I love my pentax cameras. I'm hoping that this will last like my k-1000. I didn't rate it a complete 5 star because I would not buy the package again. The battery grip for me was a waste. The camera is heavier as is and the grip makes it more so. Also, it is suggested to keep the camera in one position and that is not how I take pictures (but to be fair, I take nature pictures), The camera will barely fit in the camera bag that came with the kit. I did like the filters and extra battery with charger. But they would have been cheaper if I bought them separately.

Excellent. I have been a Pentax user for many years now, and this camera does exactly what I need - excellent color rendition, well-built, weather-sealed, fast enough AF for my various work.

Had a lot of auto focus film lenses that fit Pentax as well as some manual lenses that all work great

First, if you're already a Pentaxian and you're looking for an upgrade, this is probably the #1 choice for you. Another strong contender is the K3-III depending on your needs. I wanted the full-frame experience with the lenses I already own. I have not been disappointed. The buttons and menus are intuitive. Again, this is from a long-time Pentax user's perspective. It's a husky camera but easily doable with my small hands. I can easily switch from the K-1 to my K-3 and K-5iiis without problems. I view this camera as the ultimate for me. I might never purchase another DSLR, and mirrorless is a foreign world to me for now. I expect to use it for many years. However, if you are NOT already a Pentax user, I would question if this camera would make you happy. There are excellent reviews out there explaining the differences, so I won't do that here. The general opinion is that it competes well as a landscape camera but gets beat otherwise. Lens choices are vast.

This is a wonderful bundle of essential product. As a long time Pentax owner, my current lenses made this bundle a no-brainer. The price was right and the accessories are of good quality. If you were just getting started in digital photography, this would make a great bundle to get you going.

I love this camera. I recently upgraded from the K-5 to the K-1 and impressed with the sharpness, color and focus. The options are numerous in fine tuning preferences. Natural color is accurate. It works well for me with studio lighting, however when using outdoor for action shots it is a slower than the K-5. Continuous shooting speed performance is lacking for me.

I've been with Pentax since the 70's. My first Pentax was the 35mm KM.. Since then I have owned two others. The Pentax K-1 Mark II is the first full framed digital. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the Pentax products. I would recommend this package as it is true to it's advertisement and it's expedited shipping promise.

Wow - what a beauty. I chose this over the more recent K3 (APS-C) because some of the features on the K1 are not to be found in other Pentax models (tilt screen, GPS). I wasn't necessarily looking for a full frame camera so that is a bonus. The latest greatest upgraded auto-focus in the K3 aren't that important to me, I don't shoot video. So this K-1 has it all. The full frame zoom lens kit is a good package. The deal with SD card and spare battery and charger is also a better fit for me than the package being offered by a competitor store in NY (which I also buy from) - they were offering a photo editing software. I mean, presumably someone buying a K-1 would already be using their own software so it didn't make much sense to buy that package. The Adorama package deal was thoughtful and I am glad I bought from Adorama instead.

Great Camera, love the fact that I can use all my older but still really Good Lens and flash. Also weather and dust proof. You can feel the Toughness and Quality Build when you put this camera in your hands. Oh not to mention the fact that is a Full Frame (35mm) Camera, which of everybody knows Bigger is Better.

This literally has everything I feel anyone would need to start doing photography. For the price you can't go wrong. Yes, although some items could have been perhaps a higher quality, you can't beat the fact everything is bundled together and made convenient in 1 package deal. Lens are great for many different types of shots. Bag does well to fit majority of the tools you need on the go. The extra extension for the battery is a great for the handling of the camera and it also significantly extends your battery life. The software however, is a bit outdated. I believe it is 3 year old version. Regardless, you get something to edit your pictures with therefore, I am not complaining since most picture editing software now requires a yearly subscription. Love the camera strap that came with it as well, really comfortable. Battery chargers there's two and it allows you to either charge both or have different ways to charge your battery. Either way, they both work well.

I have been a life long Pentax user and had been considering going to a full frame DLSR for some time. I am delighted with Pentax's entry into full frame DSLRs with the K-1 Mark II. So far it has exceeded all expectations and I have barely scratched the surface of it's capabilities. Image quality is amazing, the Wifi remote operation from my cell phone is coming in handy for wildlife. With this camera I know the only limitation my work will face is my own limits, not the camera's!

I have been through all the brands from Nikon to Canon, Olympus to Fuji. I purchased a Pentax K3 several years ago and have missed that camera since I sold it. Well I finally took the plunge and purchased the K-1 II. First of all the service from Adorama was top notch....could not ask for better. I took the K-1 out to the coast for a trip I had planned. I also took my full Olympus kit as well thinking they would share the duties. Well, the Oly did not come out of its bag. This Pentax is so user friendly and the menus are easy to navigate. Having said that....it is seldom that you ever have to dive into the menus as most everything you need is there without taking your eye from the gorgeous and huge viewfinder. No doubt the best optical viewfinder in existence on a full frame camera!! The images are stunning and huge dynamic range! I would highly recommend the camera. Just heft one and compare the perceived quality when in hand against anything you are using now. This is photography's best kept secret!

I have been wanting this camera since it first came out. Got a great deal from Adorama during holiday sale. I am familiar with its general layout since I own a K3. I have not had time yet to give it a full workout but I'm thrilled to have it and look forward to the better images in the full frame format. The wifi connection and tilting screen are some of the other improvements I appreciate. As others have said, you cannot touch all of the technology in this camera for this price by other makers.

Great camera, Equals my Nikon D810 but has additional features that the Nikon doesn't. Like AstroTracer, Pixel Shift, 5 axis stabilization with any lens, all direction tilt screen, rear lighting for buttons with night time red as well, and built in GPS. These and other features make the camera easier to use. It is also less expensive than Nikon.

Pentax K1 M2 is good for high pixels, weather and dust proof, and built-in GPS. Priceworthy. But it is too heavy to carry with lenses and accessaries and bothering to take photos whatever, whenever, wherever for me as a senior hobby and travel photographer. I should return to compact one.

Everything about this purchase went as planned. I love my new Pentax K-1 Mark II and ordering from Adorama was a breeze. If I have to express a critique at all it would be that much of the "kit" stuff that came packaged with the camera was very basic. I guess if I was brand new to photography I might have found these items (basic carrying bag, all-in-one SD card reader, lens cleaning kit) was, well, basic. I don't really need or want the stuff. And yet I did select for then to send it to me and didn't have to--guess I just can't say no to free things. My only others gripe is that the neck strap Pentax includes is not comfortable. This is a big, heavy camera. It really needs a big, strong neck strap to go with it. I've since ordered one.The most important aspect of this purchase is, of course, the quality of photo. This is where I love this camera. Absolutely gorgeous photos are achieved with this.

Love my Pentax
By Carol W.
I love my Pentax K-1 Mark II. This is my second K-1. I bought a second body so I can have my original K-1 astromodified. I love the builtin intervalometer and the Astrotracer.
Ricoh Imaging is pleased to announce the new Pentax K-1 Mark II, the sucessor to the Pentax K-1.
Keeping the key unique features PENTAX is known for, Shake Reduction II, AA Filter Simulator, AstroTracer, Pixel Shift Resolution II, Flexible Tilt LCD, Composition Adjustment , Auto Horizon Correction, Smart Function, Operation Assist Light, Red Light LCD, TAv Shutter/Aperture Priority,
and some new upgrades the K-1 Mark II is the perfect camera for Nature, Landscape and Nightscape photography.
The K-1 Mark II will also launch with a kit including the HD PENTAX-D FA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Lens.
The PRIME IV with 14-bit imaging processing engine coupled with our original Accelerator Unit, (a RICOH developed processing device) effectively suppresses noise and reproduces fine-details with rich colors even at high ISO levels.
The Accelerator Unit was first introduced in the PENTAX K-70, followed by the KP and is now being introduced in the K-1 Mark II, marking the 3rd generation. We have been able to achieve the highest results from this newly designed Accelerator Unit based on our increased knowledge and experience.

Pentax Pixel Shift Resolution has been very well accepted with the PENTAX K-3 II, K-70, and KP. We have adopted an upgraded version of the Pixel Shift Resolution to PENTAX K-1 Mark II. The system is apart from the conventional Bayer system, which only captures single unit of color data in each pixel. Pixel Shift Resolution captures four images of the same scene by shifting the image sensor by a single pixel, using the SRII mechanism. With this, each pixel captures all colors, resulting in super-high-resolution images, true to life colors with much finer details, while significantly lowering the level of high-sensitivity noise.
With the K-1 Mark II, we are able to achieve Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution.
This technology is a revolutionary technology which comes from reverse thinking to utilize the minute camera shake itself to produce the composite images. Therefore, by detecting the camera shake in three dimensions, the continuously captured four images are analyzed based on the detected camera shake information and produce one super high resolution image.
During the Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution, as the image is not captured using sensor movement like traditional Pixel Shift Resolution, the SR II system can be used to correct for camera shake. By coupling both features, Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution can be effectively used during low light situations even without tripod.
From the technology point of view, when you are using tripod, the Pixel Shift Resolution II images will produce higher resolution.
Over the years, Pentax has been a trusted name in the world of photography, and the K-1 Mark II Digital SLR Camera with HD Pentax-D FA L 28-105mm F3.5/5.6 ED Lens is a testament to their commitment to quality and innovation. As the successor to the highly acclaimed Pentax K-1, the K-1 Mark II is the flagship model of the Pentax K-series lineup, designed with the professional photographer in mind.
This high-quality, advanced DSLR camera retains the unique features that Pentax is renowned for, such as Shake Reduction II, AA Filter Simulator, AstroTracer, and Pixel Shift Resolution II. These features, along with the Flexible Tilt LCD, Composition Adjustment, Auto Horizon Correction, Smart Function, Operation Assist Light, Red Light LCD, and TAv Shutter/Aperture Priority, make the K-1 Mark II a sophisticated tool for nature, landscape, and nightscape photography.
The K-1 Mark II is powered by the PRIME IV with a 14-bit imaging processing engine, paired with Pentax's original Accelerator Unit. This Ricoh-developed processing device effectively suppresses noise and reproduces fine details with rich colors, even at high ISO levels. This marks the third generation of the Accelerator Unit, first introduced in the Pentax K-70 and later in the KP.
The K-1 Mark II also features an upgraded version of the Pixel Shift Resolution, which captures four images of the same scene by shifting the image sensor by a single pixel. This results in super-high-resolution images with true-to-life colors and finer details, while significantly lowering high-sensitivity noise.
The camera also boasts of the revolutionary Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution technology, which utilizes minute camera shake to produce composite images. This technology, coupled with the SR II system, can be used to correct for camera shake, making it possible to capture high-resolution images in low light situations even without a tripod.
In addition, the K-1 Mark II comes with the HD Pentax-D FA L 28-105mm F3.5/5.6 ED Lens, a versatile and high-quality lens that is suitable for a wide range of photography needs. Whether you're capturing sweeping landscapes or intimate portraits, this camera and lens combination ensures professional, high-quality results every time.
In summary, the Pentax K-1 Mark II Digital SLR Camera with HD Pentax-D FA L 28-105mm F3.5/5.6 ED Lens is a durable, advanced, and sophisticated tool for any professional photographer or videographer, offering unparalleled image quality and versatility.
