I was looking for a good entry level DSLR. I had old SRL lenses that I intended to use, and they work fine in manual mode. Glad I puchased the kit. The Pentax lenes are great in auto mode.

Overall I an very pleased with this camera. My first SLR was a Pentax K1000. My next was a used KSX with a Sears label. I have been wanting a digital SLR for years but the cost was prohibitive for me. I read several positive reviews and discovered that the K200D and K2000 used any Pentax lenses, I was sold.I was amazed at the quality of the pictures compared to my old point & shoot digital. The camera is well balanced and easy to use, even with a long local length zoom.My only complaint so far is that the auto focus sometimes has trouble quickly bringing an image into focus when there are several elements. I took the camera out to a park to shoot some of the early spring wildlife. Even with spot focus, the camera had trouble deciding if it wanted to focus on the brightly colored bird in the center of the frame or the small branches surrounding it. I guess I need to discover more about the camera.Again, an excellent camera for a great price!
