If you plan on using a gr camera all day you will need a few spare batteries. Having an external charger is useful to charge up your backup batteries. Most of the time I don't need this or extra batteries and just use the usb-c charger on the camera. In most cases you can just charge the camera up with a power bank and.dont need spare batteries, but if you do, this is worth the purchase.
