Adapter fit problems

I just received the adapter and hood. I can't get the adapter to fit onto the camera. The inside diameter of the adapter seems too small vs. the outside diameter of the attachment point on the camera. I read the instructions and watched a video of the process on Youtube. Has anything changed on the adapter or the camera?

Fit perfectly

Fit perfectly. Keep in mind it will double the thickness of your camera with the hood on. My intention with this kit is hoping to keep dust out of sensor. This Ricoh GR ii is very sensitive to dust. I won’t know yet.

The included lens hood prevents glare and ghosting when shooting towards bright light sources.
