Adds a Viewfinder to Camera
Once I dialed in the focus, I found the display quite good. It doesn't have great resolution, but for composition that isn't necessary. It's a nice bright display.
Mainly it gives the camera added stability to the camera by allowing the photographer to bring the camera up to the face to take the picture.

SLR Viewfinder for a Point N' Shoot?
I bought this with the camera and while I find this occasionaly useful, it's only just barely so. It is useful in bright light and to see shutter speed/aperature readouts and all the other bits of information provided in the viewscreen. The flip-up feature is handy particularly for macro work and it is nice to use it in a traditional, eye-level SLR type stance. The problem is the resolution is so low that's it's hard to tell if the darn thing is in focus or not. It's a great idea and I'd be willing to accept a somewhat larger version of this if it could give me a view more like a mid-level traditional film SLR. As is, it's maybe worth the money...but only just barely.
