Ricoh WG-70 All-Weather Compact Digital Camera, Orange

Ricoh Imaging is pleased to announce the new WG-70. The WG-70 is an all-weather adventure compact camera that is waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and crushproof. It is the perfect camera for outdoor adventurers and for families who enjoy outdoor leisure activities. The WG-70 is also a must have camera for anyone working in harsh outdoor conditions, including construction work and civil engineering.

Tough Body Construction
The WG-70 is designed for all shooting conditions. It features underwater performance down to a depth of 14m for up to 2 hours of continuous shooting, shockproof against falls from a height of 1.6m, freezeproof to temperatures as low as -10 Degree C and is crushproof against weights up to 100kgf (kilogram force).

Sharp and High-Resolution Images
With a high-performance image processing engine and a back-illuminated CMOS sensor boasting high optical efficiency and 16 megapixels, the WG-70 takes low-noise photos with a wide dynamic range and delivers a top sensitivity of ISO6400. It features a high-performance, five-times optical zoom lens with a focal length coverage of 5mm to 25mm (equivalent to approx. 28mm to 140mm in 35mm format) to accommodate a wide range of scenes and subjects.

Various Focus Mode
WG-70 comes with various focus modes, including Standard, Macro, 1cm Macro, Pan Focus, Infinity and Manual Focus. These focus modes can also be selected during Movie mode.

A Wide Range of Shooting Modes

Underwater and Underwater Movie Modes
These modes deliver natural color in underwater photography by optimizing color, contrast and white balance. In addition, in Underwater mode, the Flash Off + Flash On option can be selected. In this flash setting, two images are taken in succession in (Flash Off) and (Flash On) with a single shutter release.

Image Tone Mode
WG-70 is equipped with Image Tone Mode, popularized by PENTAX DSLR cameras. It features Bright, Natural, Vibrant, Slide Film, Monochrome and Cross Processing.

Landscape Mode
This mode produces vibrant greens of trees and blue skies This mode beautifully depicts natural landscapes by preventing color rolling phenomenon.

Outdoor View Setting
The brightness of the 2.7-inch LCD monitor can readily be adapted to changes in ambient lighting conditions for ease of viewing and an improved shooting experience. Brightness can be increased by up to two steps to make dark areas of the display easier to see in sunlight, or lowered by up to two steps to reduce glare for night photography.

Digital Microscope Mode
This mode allows for super macro shooting which standard digital cameras or smartphones cannot. Six LED Macro Lights which are positioned around the lens circumference provide bright, uniform illumination on a subject when the Microscope mode is selected. With the WG-70, the recording image size can be selected from 12M, 5M, 4M, and 2M in 16:9 aspect, which WG-60 was 2M only. When capturing at 2M, optical zoom is possible.

Digital Filters
A wide variety of filters can be applied to change the color tones and perform special processing to images. This function enables the user to create unique and shareable images easily.

High Accuracy Face Detection

Face detection AF and EF
When the high-speed Face Detection Function is turned ON, the WG-70 can capture up to 32 people's faces in focus in approximately 0.03 seconds. It automatically sets the focus (Face Detection AF) and compensates the exposure (Face Detection AE).

Smile Capture
This function automatically releases the shutter when the subject smiles.

Blink Detection
If the Blink Detection function detects closed eyes when shooting, [Closed eyes have been detected] warning is displayed for 3 seconds during Instant Review.

Small Face Filter
This function automatically processes to reduce the size of people's faces which are recognized with face detection function. The reduction ratio can be selected from 5%, 7% and 10%.

Self Portrait Assist Function
The LED Macro Lights around the lens blink when the camera detects people's faces. The position of the blinking LED Macro Light indicates where the detected face is in the frame. This function can be used in combination with Smile capture function.

Full HD Movie Recording
The WG-70 has Full HD movie recording employing the H.264 recording format, allowing capture of high-quality, extended movie clips (1920 x 1080 pixels, 16:9 proportions) at a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Add some creative touches to movie recording with the high-speed camera function for slow-motion playback of captured movie clips, or the interval movie function.

Note: When this function is selected, the recorded size is fixed at 1280 x 720 pixels.
