Shopper : how is that camera?SCOTT E : I have been looking for a camera that excels in self portraits. When I travel, the worst photos come from people I ask to take a photo of my wife and I to include the wonderful landscape behing us ( Yosemite, Grand Tetons, etc.) For some unknown reason, even people carrying heavy, sophisticated equipment cannot get a decent shot!! This wide angle Samsung with the large, easy to see display, is perfect for these memory shots. The monopod in this package is just big enough. You can easily carry both in jeans pockets. Very highly recommended!!JACALYN S : I bought this for my 13 year old daughter. She loves it!JOSE C : Is not a good camera, it is very slow to be used as a point and shoot socially, it takes too much time to recharge the flash, to focus and calculate exposure before it finally shoots. The image quality is unremarkable, exposure with flash tends to be very dark even at closed range. I only use this camera now for self shots because of the flip screen. Otherwise there are better cameras for this price.STEWART S : The MV800 is a very capable camera and I have gotten some terrific photos with it. The carrying pouch and monopod are good choices to add to its functionality.
It isn’t the easiest point and shoot camera I have ever used. The quick start guide that comes with the camera just scratches the surface of what you need to know about all of its features. Samsung offers a more complete manual as a free download. The manual is very good, but will require a good deal of study.
On my most recent shooting expedition, which was indoors, I got inconsistent results in auto mode. I was able to overcome this problem by making the settings manually, but it was something that a novice might find challenging.
Its small size makes it convenient to have on hand at all times, which is the reason I bought it. It takes better photographs than my iPhone and has many more features, but is small enough so I don’t feel encumbered carrying both the iPhone and the MV800
