I had never used a wide angle lens like this before. The world opened up and I 'see' things differently and the possibilities. The extras in the bundle were all germane and great quality. The lens was packed well, arrived ahead of time and I am pleased with the whole experience. Happy little camper.

it makes realy nice wide and crisp pictures ... it would be fantastic if this lens would have f2 I it is no good for filming in low light.

One of the better wide angle lenses, I've tried other brands but sure don't come close to the quality this lens has to offer. Like every other wide angle lens it's a bit soft on the edges but still a great lens. Only if it was a faster lens! www.clintmorrisphoto.com

Couldn't be happier! I was looking at wide angle lenses and got stuck between 2 sony lenses (one of which was a carl zeiss. Im too lazy to look them up :P). So I went to my dealer who only had this lens in the wide- angle section, and i'm glad i chose it. It had a discount so i can't argue over the price. Quality is pretty good, with almost no noticable barrel distortion from what i've seen, and I also haven't seen any chromatic abberation or what so ever yet. I highly recommend this lens to anyone who needs some extra stuff from up close or just for daily use.

I use this lens a lot, mostly for real estate/home interior shots. I purchased it specifically to get some great shots of a home theater that we submitted for an award, and have used it in nearly every home installation that we have done since. It has great color, and you never run out space to fit an entire room into a shot. I have dabbled a bit with portraits with this lens as well, and landscapes are great, but you have to be careful of the distortion that can occur with the wide angle.

Love this lens. Works great on sweeping landscapes and does surprisingly beautiful macro work too! Maybe something I'm doing but I've had some difficulties with shadows in my photos that appear to be from the lens itself.

i own the 10-20mm sigma and this lens beats it hands down, much sharper focus(doesent focus on the wrong thing)

Using this lens with the alpha55 I was able to capture high quality images under both interior and exterior lighting conditions, Unlike the earlier reviewer, I did not experience any edge-related chromatic abberations. Most recommended.

I use the lens for indoor and outdoor shots of homes under construction. The lens is fast enough in a room lit with daylight, but not fast enough for unlit attic spaces. If you have enough light this is an amazing lens. There is only the slightest distortion (barreling) at the widest focal length.

Overall very nice lens as noted above. Would be better if it went down to a 2.0 f stop. Also would be nicer if it was a little wider such as an 8 or 9 mm since it is really 1.5 times the mm due to the digit sensor. It is terrific in moderate to full light on the seashore, the mountains, the woods and other landscape locations. Not so great in dimly lit theatre or sports locations when trying to get a wide angle view.
