I have been using this lens for a few months with my Sony A7III full frame camera and have been very pleased with the results. The lens provides excellent sharpness across the entire frame. Colour fringing is also minimal. I initially though of buying a cheaper 16mm third party lens but I appreciate the benefit I get from the Sony's zoom capabilities and wanted assured quality, not just a lower price. Attached are a few photos taken straight from camera with no editing.

Pretty good lens. Love the ultra wide focal length. Not the sharpest lens in my opinion.

I bought this before my trip to Xinjiang, and I am glad that I did. I did not have a 72mm UV filter for protector, but I found a CPL and used it instead. I also brought along my Zeiss 4/24-70 and discovered that the Zeiss f/16-35 stayed on the camera for most of the trip. The weight is of most concern to me now as carrying camera, lenses and drone is taking a toll on my knees.

This is my go to lens for vacation. It captures the location so beautifully anytime of the day. A Solid build lens I'm positive will stand the test of time.

This is my favourite lens for travel and street photography. The f-stop at 4 is good for letting in decent light onto the sensor. And this is helpful for architecture, street, real-estate photography I do. Even for outdoor events, this wider focal length gives a whole new perspective. The bokeh is minimal to none, but picture quality is top notch and sharp from corner to corner. Much affordable compared to G-Master, and Zeiss coating on the lens controls the dispersion giving almost similar results to a 16-35 G master. The human eye in daylight works at a f/8 and I use that as a benchmark for every lens I use in daylight. The results at f6.3-f8 have always been the sharpest, and I just love this lens. I also like the fact this isn't having any buttons. just a zoom ring, and a focus ring. I would probably like an aperture ring that is clickable, in it's next iteration.

I've had this lense for about 2 years. Great Zoom. I highly recommend.

The used rating was V for very good and the description was shows signs of wear and scratches but does not affect the performance of the lens. Unfortunately this lens does not focus properly and images are not sharp.by the time I got around to using the lens and discovered that it is not usable, I felt stuck with a $550 paperweight

ADORAMA is awful and has made so many mistakes with my orders that I'm never using them again.

I do primarily photo, and as I start to get into video, I am finding myself turning to this lens as my go to. I do landscape photography here and there, but where this lense has been great is to start recording myself. I am finding that the length, the size and how compact it is, has been a great go to lens for me.

I was super excited to get this lens and get out to the woods for some waterfall photography. So far this lens has been everything I hope for. Versatile, well priced, sharp, easy to operate etc. I have been very pleased with the first few outings I have taken it on.

Great lens to have although it does not support focus breathing in video mode. With f4, it's still quite fast with vood bokeh

This lens has always produced excellent image quality, very sharp even on the A7RIV (I've only used it stopped down), with only very slight softness in the corners. It's nice and light so not a chore to carry on long treks. Weather sealing appears to be very good.

I shoot surf photography and sharks and this is actually a great lens because I?m shooting higher apertures I don?t need it to be super low, but the focal length it perfect for me as I love 35mm but the 16mm gives me a view that really opens up making it great for up close sharks or up close surfers.

I bought it for Real Estate photography and it works great. I really did not need lower than F4 stop. It is a solid lens that will get the job done. Lens is quite small comparing it to similar Canon lans I used before. So it takes very little space in your bag. You really won't go wrong with this lens.

Excellent Lens
By LensGuru
Great contrast and color, typical of a Zeiss lens. What amazes me is how sharp this lens is at corners, even in the extreme wide angle end (16mm). The distortion is superbly well controlled too. The sharpness in the corner indicates that the lens is inherently free of severe distortions, because the interpolation performed to correct the distortion often loses resolution in doing so. Goes to show how much quality optic this lens really is! Highly recommended.

Superb .... Just purchased this lens on 11/20/14 Took it for ride this morning. Shot some landscape in Raw (A7r) Very impressive resolution and color accuracy A must have for Landscape users Love the F4 at all zoom levels. Not too heavy either .
The Sony 16-35mm Full-frame E-mount Wide-angle Zoom Lens features the ZEISS T* (T-Star) coating that virtually eliminates lens flare, internal reflection and light scattering that can otherwise occur at glass-to-air surfaces. The T* coating contributes to outstanding image quality, with high contrast and uniformly excellent resolution right out to the image edges. Not simply applied to any lens-the T* symbol only appears on multi-element lenses in which the required performance has been achieved throughout the entire optical path, therefore promising the highest quality.
Circular Aperture
When changing your aperture to defocus the background, the light sources appear blurred. This 'bokeh' effect of the blurred background can be enhanced with circular aperture blades used in this lens. Conventional aperture blades have flat sides creating unappealing polygonal shaped defocused points of light. Circular aperture overcomes this problem through the use of curved blades that keeps the aperture almost perfectly circular from its wide-open setting to when it is closed. Smoother, more natural defocusing can be obtained as a result.
Aspherical lens elements
Aspherical lens design dramatically reduces spherical aberration while also reducing lens size and weight. Spherical aberration is a slight misalignment of the light rays projected on the image plane, caused by differences in refraction in conventional spherical lenses which degrade image quality in large-aperture lenses. Specially shaped "aspherical" elements near the diaphragm restore alignment of light rays at the image plane, maintaining high sharpness and contrast even at maximum aperture and can also be used at other points in the optical path to reduce distortion. Well-designed aspherical elements often requires complex glass molding technology, but can reduce the total number of elements required, thus reducing overall size and weight.
ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass
As focal lengths get longer, lenses built with conventional optical glass have difficulties with chromatic aberration and as a result images suffer from lower contrast, lower color quality and lower resolution. ED glass dramatically reduces chromatic aberration and provides superior contrast across the entire image, even at large aperture settings.
Internal focusing
Only the middle groups of the optical system move to achieve focus, so the overall length of the lens does not change when focusing. Other important benefits include fast autofocusing and a short minimum focusing distance. Also, the filter thread at the front of the lens does not rotate, which is convenient when using a polarizing filter.
Lens-based Optical SteadyShot image stabilization
Gyro sensors built into the lens detect even the slightest movement and the stabilization lens is precisely shifted to counteract any image blur that might occur. The use of precision, quiet linear motors and technology inherited from high-end Sony professional camcorders results in exceptionally quiet, effective image stabilization that contributes to high-quality movies as well as stills.
Dust and moisture resistant design
The dust and moisture resistance design makes this lens appropriate for heavy-duty outdoor use, especially when combined with a camera that employs weather resistant measures such as the Sony's a7 series of cameras.
