Excellent quality and value
In the interests of transparency, I don't have much to compare this lens to. I have this one, as the kit lens I got with my a6700, and a Tamron 18-300mm zoom. Prior to that I have had Panasonic Lumix cameras, Pentax DSLR, and way, way back a Minolta SLR and a Cosina SLR. The lenses I had ranged from kit lenses to Tamron and Sigma telephoto and prime lenses.
My choice of lenses was more about flexibility than quality. I couldn't afford to spend a lot to get both, but I don't feel as though I have compromised on the quality at all. I decided to stick with the kit lens for a small (physically) lens with some flexibility, and added the Tamron for extra reach.
To me, for the money, the 16-50mm is an excellent lens. It looks sharp from edge to edge, focuses very quickly, and zooms smoothly. I'm using this lens for general photography, mainly street photography, but also for landscapes. I process the images on my PC using On1 Photo Raw and I am more than happy with the quality. The pictures are sharp and vibrant.
I'm not a professional photographer by any stretch, but I think I have a decent eye for sharpness and quality, and this lens provides that. Could it be bettered? Considering the price of some of the alternative lenses available, I should certainly hope so! But for an enthusiastic amateur I think this lens is great value. In the future I will investigate other lenses, when finances allow, but for now this is more than acceptable.

Worst interchangeable lens I've ever used. Only positives are it has metal mount, improves slightly on stopping down and isn't as slow as competitors rom Canon or Nikon. Distortion is so immense that you don't get full resolution and corners are stretched to the point that details look warped. For casual snapshots only.

Great compact lens

A nifty little lens APS-C
Not the sharpest lens I have but very effective and flexible for video and the odd stills.

Broke within the first week
Broke within the first week. I went to Alaska right after purchasing it and the power zoom stopped working on the 4th day I was in Alaska. This made the camera unable to recognize the lense thus making the lense inoperable and useless. Thankfully I bought the other 55-200 lense and was able to use that, but that drastically limited the type of shots I was able to take. I purchased an extra warranty and customer service refuses to respond to my emails. It took. Beautiful images before it broke though.

Goes Everywhere!
Took this puppy on an AC7 all over Tahiti and other Leeward Islands of the Society Islands. Great to street photography ... no one notices where you point your camera. And for the wide open scenes, such as surfing, shooting a pano and stitching it up yields amazing resulting. Not the fastest or sharpest, but makes up for it and more in convenience.

great features
I purchased the Sony ZV-E10 a few months ago, and so far, I feel it's quite good, whether for taking photos or shooting videos, but the battery capacity is indeed too small.

Not a bad little lens
This lens took some pretty decent photos. It's not the best, but it does a good job in cases where I use it on a cheaper camera body, and I take it out on a friends boat (and if it falls in the water) or if it get stolen while traveling. (It's compactness is great), then it's not the end of the world as opposed to losing a GM set up.

Good lens
The lens is nice. It has a zoom feature on it that works great with taking video. The lens performance in low light is not good.

Can't fault this lens
I bought the 16-50 lens as a kit with the a6400 camera. I have set the camera to use digital zoom on top of the lens zoom and it's pretty pleasing the results. I have more to learn but I can't find and faults.

User friendly lense
Bought this with my Sony a6400. It does a job but the quality is ok. Considering it's the kit lense I think it could offer better value/quality. It's small and compact works well in that way but a little better image quality would be a mice touch to the package.

Great little lens
The E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS kit lens that came with the camera does not get the best review but as seen in the architectural photos it does a very good job with a little care when taking the photo. Overall I'm really happy with this little lens and will be sticking with it for hopefully many years to come.

Noise in videos
Its a good lens for both pictures and videos but when it comes to video recording you can hear the noise when zooming in/out (atleast for me on the sony a6400 without external microphone because currently i dont have an external microphone)

An under rated lens that punches above it's weight
I bought this lens with the A6000 camera body at a very competitive price, along side the obviously more expensive Sony SELP18105G f4 fixed aperture lens. I like the super-compact proportions of the lens which allow the camera+lens to be stashed in a very small camera bag [at an exceptionally low carry weight] and cover all-the-bases for everyday use. It's a great add-on to the A6000 camera body without the bulk of the 18-105mm lens. There's some chatter from the zoom/focus motor. However, if you can get past that [and combine it with Sony's affordable Lens Correction App] it's an all round winner....!

Very Disappointing
I obtained this lens as part of an ILCE-6000L kit. The day after I purchased the kit I took the A6000 with this lens on a trip and over a period of 2 hours or so I shot 74 pictures at various focal lengths and apertures. The definition in all cases was very soft with the centre of the frame disappointing and the edges totally unacceptable.
I have now disposed of this lens (after just 5 days) in part exchange for a vastly superior Sony Lens with which I am very happy.
