Questions & Answers

Shopper : Will it work for Canon T4i?DONALD C : Im using it in a 50D but can't imagine why it wouldn't work in a T4i!RICHARD S : Yes it will.RICHARD S : Yes it will.ROBERT H : Not sure but it works with Nikon D800LALIT V : Works perfectly.
Shopper : Is this memory card SDHC CLASS 10 compatable with the Nikon Camery COOLPIX 8700 ?STAN K : Check your camera manual first to see what memory cards are compatible, with your camera. I use it in my Nikon D800, Fuji X100, Canon G12, and have no problems.ROY V : Sorry, I don't have coolpix 8700. RICHARD S : No, your camera takes compact flash cards, sorry.
Emily K : The transfer rate for this card is stated 22 Mbps. Is that the read AND write rate or is the write rate different (as it is in most sanDisk cards)?RALPH D : Ross L I had two that broke also but the others I purchased have worked fine probably more than 100 cycles. I think it may have been a defective or damaged batch of cards.RALPH D : I'm not sure what the exact transfer rate is but I do know that the Class 10 Sony cards that I purchased all upload large RAW files a lot faster than the Class 6's I use to run on the same PC / card reader setup. It makes a difference.MARBLE, A : I concur with Miguel - "Manufacturers will usually advertise the highest speed attainable by their card, and this speed will always be the read speed, as you can see in Sony's product page. They don't specify the write speed for this card, but they state it's a Class 10. Wikipedia's article on Secure Digital reads: "Class 10 asserts that the card supports 10 MB/s as a minimum non-fragmented sequential write speed.". So, there you have it: 22MB/s read, 10MB/s write." I have one of these cards for my Nikon D7000 and works perfectly.ROSS L : Not sure on transfer rates but this thing broke after about 50 uses. The plastic casing is cheap. I would NOT buy thisMIGUEL B : Hello, Emily! Manufacturers will usually advertise the highest speed attainable by their card, and this speed will always be the read speed, as you can see in Sony's product page. They don't specify the write speed for this card, but they state it's a Class 10. I have one of these cards for my HX100 and works perfectly.Dale M : I have no way to know the transfer rates whether they are the same or different between read and write. My card was defective and was discarded after only about 10% used. I would expect them to be different like other sanDisk cards.

Great price - Great product

I use this product in my portable video recorder. I need a relatively inexpensive, small capacity card that I can leave with people who need to view my videos without worrying about when/if I'm going to get it back. This is perfect.

Best so far

I use these cards in a Lumix LX7 and an Oly E-P3, my "take everywhere" cameras for documentary/people photography. I like the improved upload speed of this Class 10 card (in the Lumix and I feel the names Sony and Adorama are a good indication of good quality control. They don't want to risk harming their reputation by selling junk and I don't want to risk loss of data by buying junk. Not all memory cards are created alike.

Sony Brand Memory Card

Sony Name Brand memory. Works great with the Sony DSC-HX30V camera in video/movie mode. Fast enough to store video and enough space for digital pictures.

Works as designed

This is a great size memory card for the price. I find it useful to have a few as backups and to switch out mid shooting so that all my pictures are not on the same card.

Don't bother if you have a Sandisk Reade

If you have a sandisk reader skip this product, you'll need to put tape over the write protection lock to get it working properly. Also, the speed ratings are misleading, the claimed 22MB/s is only for reads for writes it is slightly under 10MB/s. It does the job and it was cheap but I should have spent slightly more for a sandisk or transcend. An equally cheap alternative is the Transcend Class 6 16gb, it does 12MB/s writes and 30MB/s reads.

Sony SDHC 16 GB Class 10 Memory Card

I'm using this with a Sony a55v and find that the card is fast and reliable. Shooting with a jpeg 14 MP I get roughly 2400 pictures in a 16X9 HD format but when shooting with a standard configuration at 16 MP I can get roughly 2100 pictures. I never get to full capacity however as I'm constantly shooting full HD video as well as individual pictures and then load everything to computer. It's a good fast card and a great price. If I were going on an extended vacation where I would not have capacity to download the chip, I would buy several to make sure I had enough memory. The key here is to make sure you have adequate battery power (several batteries)
