Very useful and high-quality
This is a fantastic and high-quality bit of kit. I have it paired with a Sony 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 on a Sony A7iv and am very satisfied.

Fantastic for what it does!
Ive used other teleconverters in the past and none of them were great. Most of them wouldn't auto focus, so you were left to manual focus. Not a big deal. But then you take photos and look at them later and the noise in them was terrible.
I tried this one and I really couldn't tell which photos I had used it on and which ones I didn't until I looked at the metadata. Autofocus worked like a champ and picture quality was fantastic. I am so glad I decided to buy this. It works great with my 2 Sony lenses.

TC20, is it worth it?
Bought to pair with the 300 f2.8 and it works very well. Very happy with the results. Will experiment on my 70-200 f4 as that also works well with the TC14.

Extra reach and no downside yet
I bought this to give the 70-200 F4 OSSII more reach in sunny conditions. I read some reviews about image quality dropping, but i could not see any on the A7Riii. Definity a great purchase and together a great upgrade from the first 70-200 F4

Lovely & compact but a bit soft
The 2X noticeably softens the fantastic performance of the 300 mm f/2.8, but I find that using Topaz's Sharpen AI renders the images satisfying. I assembled a 12-image, 300 Megapixel 600 mm with this teleconverter and the 300 mm, and it is very impressive. However, using just the 300 mm to cover the same area is really sharp and doesn't require AI sharpening.

I have both Sony 200-600 @ 70-200 lens's not really worth using on the 200-600mm but on the 70-200 the results are good, hardly deterioration of the image

Optical quality is top notch!
I had a lot of reservations on getting this 2x teleconverter as I have seen a lot of reports of significant optical quality loss and blurry images on the 100-400gm. I ordered it anyways to test for myself, knowing that I could just return it if the quality was not up to par.
The 2x TC turns the 100-400mm to a 200-800mm. In APS-C crop mode on a full-frame Sony you get a 300mm-1200mm lens! Most of these shots I've included are at the far end of that range and excellent quality. I think the reports specific to the moon being blurry with the 2x TC relates to the fact that punched in to that extreme length there are a lot more variables at play. For one you need a really stable tripod and should manually focus on the moon to ensure it is crispy sharp. The rest of the photos i've included were using autofocus on a Sony a7c or a Sony a7s iii.

Dual purpose
Ive added the teleconverter to the New 300 f2.8 gm lense..Wow! sharp and worth the extra money. Since i also own a 100-400 gm this works for both extremely well

Pretty good
On a 7RIII with 200-600 lens it works sort of OK, best in really good light. On a 7RV with the 2-600 and ok light, works good.

Sony 1.4 works great with my 70-200GMii
Love my 1.4 tele to get the extra reach when shooting outdoor daylight sports. Lookin forward to seeing what it can do with the new 300 f2.8 when I'm fortunate enough to get one.

Great optical.
Use 2X telexteder on 70~200 F4 Macro to get 1to1 to 400mm to photograph flowers & 400mm to photograph birds. It is light and optically outstanding performance.best of all
even F4 lens, outstanding sharpness.

Close up from far away
Adding 2x to my 200-600 telephoto lens makes all the difference. Don't know why it's not included. Wish it worked on my other lens.

Sony SEL20TC Sony 2 x Teleconverter
Perfect for my 100-400GM lens with no apparent loss of sharpness or detail. Obviously the aperture takes a small hit but with a modern full frame camera with good ISO ability this isn't really a problem in decent light.

This does what it is supposed to do right
I cannot tell how much reduction on the quality of the images by using this teleconverter. From my eyes, it does what it is supposed to do. It goes nice with FE24-70F2.8GM2.
