A More-Than-Capable Lens
Very sharp and fast-focusing. I am used to shooting with Primes almost all the time, and had my doubts when I read the glowing product reviews of this lens. It's NOT too heavy (69 yr old woman, arthritis) and is easy to focus manually too. Really there's nothing not to like. Sure, f2.8 or f1.8 would be nice...but then it would be way too heavy. Excellent Travel Lens
The 24-105 f4 provides both a wide-angle view, to capture grand buildings inside and out, and telephoto reach, to compose portraits and pick out either built or natural landscape details, in one lens. Generally good lenses avoid the transition from truely-wide to usefully long like 24-70s which hardly go beyond normal.
