Lightweight and very sharp

This 300 with the 1.4 or 2.0 is very sharp! Not sure I need to keep my 400 2.8. great for walking around without a monopod or tripod.

A wonderful wild life lens.

A wonderful wild life lens! I have been using for about a year and half along with the 2X converter when I think I need it. The more I use it the more I like it. I'm very pleased with the photos I have taken with this lens. Built like a tank yet provides elegant controls and features.

5 STARS ACROSS THE BOARD!

I purchased this lens for my A700 about 2 months ago. Although I have only used it on a couple of outings, I have been completely impressed from the start. The focus speed is blazing fast and accurate and the clarity is stunning. I have included a couple of images taken this week.

King Of The Hill !

best 300mm

i have been testing this lens almost a week and compared the minolta 300mm HS APO. The quality of the sony is very uniform and consistence ,even when the aperture is at wide open f2.8,so this is why you have to pay more that is why this lens is not cheap and may be sony can made it one of the best ,however sony should lower down the price,so everybody can enjoy it
