Great for people used to APS-C bodies
I recently switched from APS-C and I'm impressed with how familiar this is in weight and form factor while still packing in everything I'd expect from a high-end Sony body.

This compact and lightweight full-frame camera is designed for serious creators, offering cutting-edge technology for capturing both still images and movies. With a 33.0 effective megapixel Exmor R CMOS image sensor, it delivers high-speed readout, high sensitivity from ISO 100 to ISO 51200, low noise, and highly accurate color reproduction.
The advanced BIONZ XR processing engine in the a7C II provides up to eight times more processing power than its predecessor, ensuring minimal latency and superior image quality. It enhances both movie and still image processing power, achieving natural gradations, realistic color, and fast menu response.
The a7C II's advanced AE algorithm, combined with the latest processing engine, ensures consistently accurate exposure and color. It can detect the skin area of faces and adjust exposure accordingly for both stills and movies, providing consistent exposure control even in challenging shooting conditions.
With the Creative Look feature, you can set the visual mood of your shots. It offers 10 customizable presets, allowing you to capture the world the way you envision it. You can use the presets as they are or adjust eight parameters, including contrast, saturation, and shadows, to create shareable stills and movies in-camera without the need for post-production editing.
The a7C II also offers selectable RAW image sizes and quality. Its lossless RAW image compression provides efficient compression for smaller file sizes without any loss in image quality. This enables the camera to shoot up to 27 frames in continuous bursts.
Enjoy more stable handheld shooting with the a7C II's advanced optical 5-axis image stabilization. This feature effectively compensates for up to 7.0-steps of camera shake, making framing easier even at telephoto focal lengths.
The a7C II is compatible with more than 70 E-mount lenses from Sony's extensive lineup, offering boundless creativity. These lenses, including the G Master series and the G Lens series, provide excellent image quality and smooth bokeh.
The a7C II also offers high-quality movie recording capabilities. It supports 4K 60p/50p movie capture, S-Cinetone for a cinematic look straight out of the camera, and Log shooting for flexible post processing. All these features are packed in a compact, lightweight body that's compatible with gimbal or drone-mounted shooting.
With the a7C II, you can easily create a cinematic look with the S-Cinetone feature. It delivers natural mid-tones, soft colors, and gorgeous highlights. The camera also supports in-camera 10-bit 4:2:2 recording when using Long GOP or All-Intra compression, providing greater editing freedom.
The a7C II's Active Mode provides enhanced image stabilization for handheld shooting. It works in coordination with compatible lenses with their own built-in image stabilization for highly effective control, enabling handheld telephoto shots with greater clarity.
The a7C II is equipped with an AI processing unit specifically dedicated to processing significant amounts of data, enabling more accurate recognition of subjects. It can accurately recognize human movement, achieving significant improvement in human eye recognition.
The a7C II uses up to 759 phase detection points in a high-density array that cover approximately 94% of the image area when shooting stills. It also achieves high AF precision down to light levels as low as EV -4.0 in AF-S mode.
The a7C II's mechanical and electronic shutters allow continuous shooting at up to 10 fps, or up to 8 fps in live view mode, making it easier to capture the most photogenic moments and expressions with moving subjects.
