Conway M : Will this fit the RX-100M5A?BYRON H : I bought the grip for the RX-100M3 and was a proper fit. Maybe you should ask Sony if the grip will fit the M5A, which is a newer model. Having said that, my guess that it will fit because there seems to be little or no difference in all of the rx100 models.

Optional for a reason
Great product. The best thing about it is that Sony decided not to include it with the camera. It's there for people who want it. The rest of us don't have the added cost.

Works fine
Makes holding the RX100M7 easier for longer periods of shooting. Wish it was included with the $1200 camera! Before I got the grip I had rolled a little piece of gaffers tape & stuck it to the camera for my forefinger to rest on while shooting. This worked fine but looked kind of crappy. Another option for a cheaper grip would be to get one of those little rubber feet stick ons that are for putting on the bottom of appliances or back of picture frames. Just put that on where your finger would rest to prevent camera slip.

Easy to use
Really easy to install, just wipe off the camera, peel off the backing, and apply. It gives the camera grip - so it doesn't feel like it is going to slip out of your hands. I wish that I had gotten a small rig instead of this. When I got the camera I didn't think I would need a hot shoe (not thinking about how to attach a mic). Looking at the cold shoe mounts, most of them have a small grip on them already making this obsolete. I wouldn't buy this again, but only because I think I would rather get a small rig. Otherwise it works well and serves its purpose. It is also well priced.

Really bad product
This product did not remotely stick to the camera after having carefully followed the instructions (even after leaving it for several hours). A waste of time and money. Shame as the camera is fab.

I agree with others, it's a must have.
When I was thinking about getting the RX-100 for a light travel camera, I noticed many reviews recommended getting this grip attachment. One reviewer commented that he was amazed that Sony did not automatically include this item for the price of the camera. I decided to order the grip. For what I paid for the RX-100, what's another $15 if it really does make that much of a difference? Folks, yes, yes it really does make a big difference! I initially tried using the camera without the grip. It's small and slick enough that I almost dropped it a few times in just the first 10 minutes. I should add that I have some arthritis and that makes a little more clumsy. I then attached the grip and it adds just enough of a grip and tackiness that I have to agree with the other reviewer - Sony should have just included this automatically. Even while my hands were cold and slightly wet from rain, I was able to maintain a good grip on the camera. During a 2 week tour in China I never dropped my camera. Thanks to this grip and the wrist strap, it was close but I ducked the bullet. Yes, I highly recommend.

Sony should have given this for free with any RX 100 Camera
This handy grip makes carrying the Sony RXVII a more secure feeling. I just wish that Sony would have included it in the price of the RX100. If I didn't want the features it offered, I would have stayed with my Canon G7X Mark 2.

Sony No Baloney
This accessory finger grip makes the almost perfect RX100 VI perfect. Can't understand why six models into this RX Sony doesn't make a grip part of the slippery body.

Fits perfectly
It fits perfectly. It was easy to attach and it improves the grip-ability significantly. I no longer feel as though I am on the verge of dropping the camera every time I remove it from my camera case attached to my belt.

An important detail, do not miss it!
This grip is the small detail that completely changes your sensation from using the camera. Recently I switched from Sony RX100 to RX100 M2. The grip changed the look of the camera, which was nice. But the main thing is this feeling in your hand. It is very comfortable and pleasant to the touch. I highly recommend that when you buy a new camera and for the one you already use.

This little grip will change casual street shooting experience from a mildly annoying grip, to the most ergonomic feel you can get out of the tiny RX100 powerhouse. Getting this for your camera is a no brainer.

Substantial. Looks good on the camera. Easily attaches via a peel-off adhesive. And, of course, it does really improve the grip on the camera and aides in the stability of taking pictures and changing setting.

Love this
I needed something for better handling on the camera and this does the perfect job. Was easy to apply, sticks well. Have had it on the camera for 2 months now with no issues. It also adds some character to the simple camera frame.

Attachment Grip
It is a must as the camera is hard to hold on to without it! I read a couple of reviews on this great camera and that was really the only knock. And after a week in the Virgin Islands... it didn't slip once!!

This was clearly the best accessory purchase possible for the RX100. I don't know why Sony doesn't just include this grip with the camera. I'm sure most people are not aware of this item, but it makes a world of difference in the ability to grip this camera solidly, safely, and comfortably one handed, without adding to the weight or overall dimensions of the camera. It's extremely easy to add on, it looks good, and I would highly recommend this grip.
