Great camera! I thought that I would end up taking it back as I was leaving the store, but once i got it home and started using/playing with it, I knew I wasn't keeping it without a doubt. Only hangup is that sometimes, the camera doesn't focus on a object up close. I may just need the rest of the instruction book though.

With this camera I was able to capture incredible moments. From instectos to the moon, close up, vivid colors, landscapes, groups of people, fireworks. I'm really amazed at the versatility that has this camera, friends have asked if I am professional photographer, the truth is that I'm not, but I love photography and this camera gave me what I wanted.

This camera is a great choice for the beginner or amateur photographer. I liked the incredible 52x zoom, but it also features a great 10x optical zoom for better image quality. Image quality is pretty good overall: however, after taking thousands of photos, I've noticed there is an overall blurry/grainy/noisy element to the higher mega pixel shots. I think the CMOS is actually a 3 or 5 MP. The uploaded sample image of the plane is a great example (This was an actual pixel outtake of a shot taken at full zoom). Indoor shots in low light are pretty hard to get; fluorescent lighting was particularly challenging to work with, as pictures would turn out noisy and/or blurry. While occasionally I shot a tremendous low light picture, I found that it's camera works best in medium to higher light settings, such as snow, beach, or sunny scenes. Video, on the other hand, was great in low, medium, and high light. If the sun was too bright, sometimes it put vertical purple washout lines vertically across the picture, so a lens hood or shadow would occasionally be helpful. Battery life was great; I usually got about 2-300 flash shots or several hours of no flash. It's also a sturdy camera; It has been dropped multiple times with no consequences. Comfortable to use, fits in a pocket, and looks great. Not too bad for most uses, though. Some great features, a few of which are not mentioned in the specs: Widescreen cropping, (audible) zoom during video, adjustable flash intensity, red eye double flash, 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 Aspect Ratios in VGA, 2MP, 3MP, 5MP, 7MP, 8MP, 10MP Settings, 2 FPS in burst mode, EV adjustment from -2 to +2, Manual ISO: Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, with higher auto ISO, One Push set WB, Multi, Center, & Spot AF Focus, Manual focus sets to 1, 3, or 7 meter with optional infinite setting, Multi, Center, or Spot Metering, Smile Detection Sensitivity, Red Eye Reduction, D-R Shadow Recovery Options, Color Modes, Image Contrast & Sharpness Adjustments, Auto Steady, Slideshow Playback with music, Direct Printing, Image Rotation Edit. A sample of the great video quality can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFMlaOpj17Q In summary, Great camera, Great size, Packed with Features, Basically an All-in-one. I probably should have saved for longer and gotten a DSLR, or camcorder though, as I found that similarly priced camcorders have comparable cameras with better video features, while DSLR's have what I was really looking for in image quality.

The flash is on top of the camera, and flips up. I love this location because it prevents your finger from accidentally going in front of the flash. The zoom is incredible! I attend MANY concerts. I found I can shoot moving objects from at least 400 ft away and still get an incredible shot with great lighting and no blur; especially at concerts! The cons are the location where you insert the cable to transfer photos is on the bottom of the camera, making you lay the camera on it's lens side or LCD screen. The camera doesn't have a flip lens cap, so the cap swings in your way if you're moving. The last thing I don't like is that the playback doesn't float vertical to horizontal if you move the camera to view a landscape photo. The pro's COMPLETELY out-way the cons. I can handle the cons, they just need to be improved. I would recommend this camera to anyone! You will NOT be disappointed! The pictures I have attached are photos I took from Carrie Underwood's concert. One is the actual view, and the other is from the same location, but with a zoom. Look at the quality of both... and take to heart that it is VERY dark in there... can't use my flash!

Since i bought this camera, it has really served me very well, it has always thrilled me with its loaded features every time i clicked a picture, as i mainly work on manual mode which means i set the shutter speed value and aperture value manually, which gives me the total control over the picture i am going to take. Truly & frankly speaking "GOOD VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY". I took 382 pictures in one charge. You can see my photography on this link http://gautamsbrahma.blogspot.com/ Thank You SONY.

Bought this camera as soon as I graduated from college and had money. Wasn't thrilled with paying that much ($250+) but one year later I absolutely love it! I am an ammature photographer and love to take scenic/nature pictures. Took it with to Vegas and worked great with the lights and sun! Love it to take pictures of all seasons of Minnesota as well! I've added two pictures taken from this camera; one from Vegas and the other taken in my backyard in Minnesota. It was so hard to pick two pictures to show picture quality-many of them are great! I highly recommend this camera to anyone who needs a step up but doesn't want to spend the money on an expensive photographer's camera at this point. This camera is great for the in-between

This camera is absolutely fantastic.. been going to many showrooms for past 2 months for comparng pics and cameras, but my mind was ste on this one from 1st sight.. in truth, i love the HX1 a lot more, but its Toooooooo big to be carried in pocket or lugged around comfortably.. and in reality, the difrence between H10 and HX1 really dont justify the price difference for getting an HX1... the only thing i m missing out in H20 from HX1 is the ""Supposedly 1080p" mode recording, which is infact not even 1080p.. its a stretched 1440x.. the H20 is waay to compact for its features and the long zoom.. i played around with it for 2 months in sony outlets and been fiddling with it for last month at home and hospital for taking records of patients.... the pic quality is a whole set of stairs above any W, S or T series in routine photography, but only a half step above the macro of the older Sony T series, with magnifying Macro, ie T10/T20,.. The pics are Evenly lit throughoutr, and even in extremely dark rooms with over 20 ft distance, at full zoom range, the flash illuminates the dark corners evenly, something even H10 and others failed to do properly.. the H20 is a buyers dream come true with 10x zoom and such compact form...i gladly recomend this to EVERYONE for WHATEVER purpose they wana use it for..its an all round champ.. will post my view soon macro results on human tissues, and macro in Operation theaters next week, when i take it to the hospital.. just hope our assistant doesnt get it contaminated.. :p..

I wanted a model with high marks and ease of use, but with a little more options than a typical point-and-shoot. I wish it came with model-specific tutorials, but I have learned enough from other sources to educate myself better. Sony is AWESOME!!

This camera takes amazing photo's and HD video, but the best part is the amazing automatic detection. You don't have to worry about anything. It even has a "smile detect" feature that takes a photo immediately when the subject smiles! And...the video quality is truly amazing. The 10X optical and 14x digital zoom is another great feature. So, far i have found no "cons". I highly recommend this camers, it's small in price and size, but definitely not small in quality.

I have shot over 4000 images with my h20 and they have never let me down. I recently took a college photo course and was laughed at for my little sony. When the semester was over I had a 4.0 in the class and the teacher still was wondering if a used a dslr. Great camera and will soon be trying out the attachment lenses to further my cybershot experience.

I am completely satisfied with my purchase, something I normally associate with purchases of Sony products. IMO, Sony and Apple are the leaders today in innovation, quality and over elegance of their consumer electronics. The video on this camera is tremendous, what a Bonus! Picture quality overall is excellent, though you will still get the occasional blurry pic of your hand isn't real steady. I like this camera so much, I just bought a second one for my wife to use. For the money and considering the features and performance this camera offers, I can;t imagine there being a better buy on the market. Good Job Sony!

Well this Camera is awesome.... Took lot of pics from it and I am very satisfied with the picture quality. The camera is Handy so can be kept in your pocket. The zoom is awesome. The flash is super-powerful and the pics are absolutely clear when clicked in dark using the flash. The only thing it takes a bit more time to have back to back clicks using the flash approx waiting time is of 3-4 secs between two successive flash pics.

first of all, about the review (a couple below me, i believe), you can infact shoot in b&w. you choose program auto, menu, color mode, & b&w. same with video. the camera is reallly really really, like slr quality, good outdoors especially when its sunny. & the macro is really good too. depending on how sunny it is, the shutter can be really fast too (look at the pic of my friends faking a fight! =D). however, when taking pictures inside/at night/somewhere dark, it really stinks...sometimes even with the flash. but i still think it was worth it because i love it & don't go anywhere without it! =] & it also makes your skin look really nice! =D

This cam has the capability of taking pics upto effective 10MP resolution...i checked it at many Sony centers and i was getting more and more impressed as i checked it. Even at the 10X zoom u get a clear pic......!!! the pics dnt get pixellated....tht was really impressive......even in the dim light conditions.earlier i thought tht the cam is lil' overpriced...bt it is not. the menu functions are really simple to use......u dnt even have to read the manual for the functions of the cam. in Sony India....it's rival is the T90 with the same price tag. just in this case. bt the pic quality of T90 is nt tht good as it shld have been.....Sony enginners and designers have concentrated highly only on the looks of T90....and comapring to H20.....it has only 4X zoom .... By the looks of H20 u will find it quite decent looking and simple.......bt once the cam is on u'll feel the aggression.....the power and the grace of the cam. It comes only in black color.. in the box u'll find a connector cable with the attachment to the TV and the PC...which is quite cool....even though u won't have to use the PC connection via USB if u have a memory card reader.....else the option is there... The flash is quite impressive....shoots clear pics in the jet Black environment with an excellent distance range of 5M. The iSCN function is really good as it selects the best scene according to the environment u r in like twlight....backlight..landscape..etc and gives u the right picture.....there are many options available for the manual selection..as well if u know whta exactly they do. In all the cam is really good and the i am very happy tht i took the decision to buy this thing. Thumbs UP!!! SONY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This camera is one of the best bargains out there right now! It takes absolutely gorgeous pictures and has 3 different lenses you can purchase separately. The price is dropping everyday and I have seen it for $200. It is great for an amatuer or an aspiring photographer like myself. I HIGHLY recommend this camera!!!!

What a great little camera

I've taken less than 500 pictures with this camera, but I must say I am truly impressed with it. I've only had 2 or 3 pictures that were unusable even though I have really put this thing to the test trying all sorts of low light/backlit situations. I usually use the auto scene selection, but have also tried the easy selection to see how it would perform. If you get a bad picture with this camera, you are really trying to do so. The picture quality is excellent, much better than the Canon A57...

Zeiss lens rule!

I did my research when I last shopped for a still camera, and boy was I right on the money for this one! This is the only digital still on the market to offer a true 10x zoom and 10.1 megapixels. I have owned many a Canon digital camera, I own many SLRs and rangefinders that I still love to use. But, in terms of its small size and excellent picture quality (especially when I need it in a hurry), this camera is now a constant companion of mine. All I have to say is, this camera not only carrie...

The Sony DSC-H20 Cyber-Shot Digital Camera features 10.1-megapixel with impressive Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar wide-angle lens, 10x optical zoom, it's easy to capture the moment with impeccable detail. A 3.0" touch screen makes reviewing your shots a breeze and the ingenious iAuto mode takes the guesswork out of choosing the best camera settings when you're not sure which one to pick. There's also built-in technology like Optical SteadyShot image stabilization that reduces blur and Smile Shutter mode that automatically captures a smile as it happens. The H20 captures crisp, 720p video that can be viewed on your HDTV. There's even an anti-blink function to help everyone look their best and in-camera photo retouching tools.
