Easy to use with great results

I love it! It is reasonably light, so easy to use, and gives great results. Still mastering panoramic shots, but the range of additional features is good, and telephoto works really well and so sharp.

So far so good

I purchased this camera for an upcoming cruise. My previous camera was slowly dying. I am still acquainting myself with the icons, options etc.

Great camera for the price.

I bought this camera, because it is just the right size to take with me anywhere. It is easy to use and takes excellent photos. The quality of the photos are excellent. It does exactly what I wanted and more I highly recommend it as a nice starter camera for the novice and still most of the quality for the professional. I bought it for a back up camera when I don't want to carry a lot of lens with me. I have not been disappointed.

Decent camera

While I like the camera, I was quite disappointed So, while on vacation, I wanted to know how to play back photos taken and use some advanced options. Without a computer, I was lost! Very disappointing. Not sure why a simple booklet is not included. It makes you want to leave the camera behind and take your old reliable camera instead! It wouldn't kill Sony to add a simple booklet!

Great but not recommended for anyone

This camera eats every battary you put in it and after 1 week of using it's already empty. Also the items you get with it kije the usb cable is more expensive then the camera it self...

My second Sony

At the moment I don't have a whole review on the product, I didn't use it a lot. One reason is also batteries went empty after 40 shots. Otherwise I like it.

JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. I WON'T HAVE A HARD TIME LEARNING HOW TO OPERATE IT.

I LOVE THE LOOKS OF IT, BIGGER, BUT ALL FEATURES ARE LIKE MY OTHER CAMERA. CAN'T WAIT TO USE IT. BUT, WHEN I WENT TO GET A MEMORY CARD THEY SAID I HAVE TO BRING THE CAMERA WITH ME. STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN A CHANCE TO GET BACK TO STORE. MY OTHER SONY BOUGHT IN 2009 HAD MEMORY DISC ALREADY IN CAMERA WHEN I BOUGHT IT. WOULD HAVE LIKED IF MEMORY CARD/DISC WAS ALREADY IN CAMERA WHEN I PURCHASED IT.

Very nice camera for the price

Really liked everything. One thing: very slow after each shot. Takes a few seconds to recycle. Otherwise very happy. Easy to use, great quality, feels good in the hands, very solid.

Basic camera

I had to return the camera due to it keep switching itself off. It would take a couple of pictures then the lens would go in and the empty battery sign show even after changing the batteries. Within 24 hours of buying it I took it back to the shop and it did exactly the same for the assisant. He refunded my money without any problems.

Know what you want it for.

I got it thinking it would make a good camera for shooting tripod based video. It only did 720p and would not stay focused. Sadly unlike expensive DSLR cameras this is not good for video. I ended up getting a $70 camera that did just as well with the video. Sony makes camcorders but none that I could find that can stream the video to a computer.

Focus has problems...

I bought this for myself about 1 month ago, I am not impressed with the camera and wish I would have saved my money. The Focus is not manually adjustable for more effect on shots. It will actually blurr when changing from photo to camera setting. You actually have to cycle power to hopefully get it back in focus but beware if you are trying to use the advertised 35x zoom, because chances are you will blurr and have to restart the camera. Not a fan of no rechargeable battery, it is annoying how little life the batteries that came with the unit had. It didn't even come with an SD card. This is basically a throw away camera. No sport mode to capture actions shots either. The continuous shot mode is extremely slow as well. I recommend looking for something else, the $200 was better going towards a more expensive model from a different maker.

Great action shots, terrible in indoor low light

Great for outdoor action shots & video. Terrible for indoor shooting of anything, considering the seeming options for manual and semi-automatic settings. Pictures come out muddy, low-resolution. Ridiculously awful compared to the quality of outdoor shots. Flash is awful. My 15-year-old 4 mp Canon takes better indoor shots. Consider what purposes you need this for. And what's with the creepy, ubiquitous microphone that you can't disable, and can't cover over? Be prepared to hold your breath when recording unless you enjoy the sound of your mouth breathing in every video.

FEATURED REVIEWS

I started in manual mode and tested flash response

By DonAtLive

I will be looking at this camera as number one because it reminded me of the time when I actually thought about the photograph I was planning to take. More pictures is just that more review adjustment and excitement instead of more quality and fulfilment. I will be looking at using this 35x with a tripod if the motion of the hand can be overcome how much more so the wind etc. I had taken photos with thought and preparation before so now it is back to basics and fun.

DSCH300 Digital Camera A Winner

By CopaGuy

When my old Sony Mavica no longer would read the discs, I started looking for a new camera. I wanted something that had the same features as the old one and had video capability. I must say this camera is all that and more, it is packed with great features. The HD video was awesome and the mic does not pick up that annoying camera hum while filming. Pictures are clear/sharp and the many setting options (including panorama) will keep you busy for days. The macro zoom takes awesome close ups. I...
