Extremely Disappointed

I believe everyone is in agreement that this camera has a spectacular video mode. This is one of the reasons why I purchase the camera because I wanted to have the ability to video record and take pictures with one product. Nice big bright LCD screen. I love the 9 megapixel mode for viewing on your HDTV, pictures come back to life with a good HDTV. The reason why I reviewed this product with 2 stars is because I already had to ship out to a Sony Repair Shop to replace my broken LCD. I took my camera to my 1st trip to Maui, Hawaii and I used it for 3 days when I realized that my LCD was cracked in half. I purchased a Sony leather carrying case and I never dropped it so I’m baffle why it cracked. I purchased a disposal camera to continue capturing Hawaii’s beauty. Sony had a great customer service in repairing my product, it just had to pay for shipping. The intelligent shoot mode is always trying to adjust that several of my pictures come out slightly out of focus, but it’s an ok feature. The “double” anti-blur has not been perfected, on my hiking trips I tend to continue walking and then shoot, and even if I stop. The battery life is horrible. I had extreme hopes for this camera, especially since it was Sony and for the expensive price, including the accessories and additional warranty. My trust with Sony has been shook and next time I’ll wait for any product to be out for several months before purchasing esp. a Sony product.

Great battery life...

I don't understand what reviewers are talking about when they say that this camera has a poor battery life? Maybe they received a defective camera or battery, but for those individuals who stated that they only were able to take 50 pictures max, I must correct them and say that this is not true. At first I was hesitant about getting this camera because of the reviews I have read from others about the poor battery life, but after much debate and the option of returning it 14 days later if not satisfied, I decided to give this camera a shot. I just got my T900, charged it the recommended 4 hours (for a full charge) and then commenced to use my camera. After taking 100+ photos (with flash) and taking 3 minutes of video, the battery display is still full. I am trying to drain the battery in a test to see how long the battery really lasts, but after taking a hundred photos, I am confident that the battery will last up to the amount stated in the manual; the pictures one can take with a fully charged battery (approx. 200). Hope this helps you guys.

The Sony DSC-T900 is based around a 1/2.3" SuperHAD CCD image sensor with 12.1 megapixel resolution coupled to a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar branded 4x optical zoom lens. The Sony T900 offers equivalent focal lengths that range from a 35mm wide angle to a 140mm telephoto, while the maximum aperture varies from f/3.5 to f/4.6 across the zoom range. Macro focusing is possible down to a minimum of one centimeter in what Sony dubs "magnifying glass" mode.. The T900 forgoes any optical viewfinder in favor of a 3.5" touch-panel wide-aspect LCD display with an extremely high 921,000 dot resolution.

The Sony Cyber-Shot T900 offers ISO sensitivity ranging from 80 to 3,200 equivalent and includes both true mechanical image stabilization, as well as Digital Image Stabilization which functions by raising the camera's sensitivity (and along with it, the noise levels) so as to achieve a higher shutter speed and reduce motion blurring. The Sony T900 also offers face detection capable of differentiating between children and adults, recognizing and prioritizing one specific individual's face whenever they're present in a scene and detecting when your subject blinks during an exposure. The T900 takes into account the locations of detected faces when calculating autoexposure and autofocus variables. There's even a dedicated "Smile Shutter" button which triggers the T900 to capture a photo upon detecting that the subject is smiling.

The Sony Cyber-Shot T900 features in-camera retouching capabilities, with soft focus, fish eye effect, cross filter, partial color, retro, radiation, red-eye correction, trimming, unsharp masking and smile effects on offer.
