I got this camera on Christmas, i am a normal person and i love this camera. It was my 2nd camera and my first camera was a Nikon and i have to say this camera beats it by far. The focus of the camera is one of the best i have ever had. This camera fits well in a purse of even in a smaller hand bag. Great buy!

Handy and fun to use and solid. On line reviews said image quality was consistent within this price range. I disagree. Two of my older 8 MP cameras ( not Sony brand ) make stunning images compared to the smudgy pix of the T-99. Tripod comparisons were made. To be fair- this camera will make acceptable 4x6 images and web content. The T-99 is a snapshot camera producing slightly better prints than Polaroids of yesterday.

the second day using the camera my $50 memory card stopped working.. and screen went black when i thought the battery should still be fine.. charged the battery the next day and used the camera for about 10 mins and screen went black again. this time i new the battery still was almost full.. even removing battery did not help. a few hours later it started to work. and battery showed full again. sonystyles is honoring their return policy but im still out a memory card.. i will say that video looks great. and sound recording works very good too.. i was very impressed with this.. but when i get issued my refund i will get something better.. maybe the cheap price and compact design causing overheating issues..

Terrible picture quality. I mean really, I would be better off using a disposable camera. Also, the touch screen does not work very well. Sometimes it will scroll through the pics and sometimes it won't. My biggest regret is that it's too late to return it.

This is my Christmas present! Previously I have been using a Kodak Easyshare Z1285. Great camera, but the number one problem I had was I couldn't focus on something unless it was a minimum of 6 inches away. I love photography and that limited my angles and such. This camera CAN focus right up to the lens which the MOST important thing to me! I honestly was going to get a canon, but I tried this baby out @ Wal-mart and was sold! I love the touch screen, mostly because I can touch where I want to focus on. I've had this for two days so hopefully my opinion is the same now as it will be in a few months. Anyway! Yes the image quality is quite impressive. The touch screen is sensitive. I have taking to many panoramic shot yet so I don't really have to much to say about that. I haven't used any "professional" cameras so I can't say if this can hold a candle to them. But for me this absolutely, positively outstanding. Maybe it's my "I just got a new camera joy" speaking but I think this is fantastic. I have taken a number of good pictures so far but below are two I like. I apologize for my rambling review, but I'm really stoked about this.

My first Sony camera was a Mavica (loved it and still have it). My second camera was an 8.1 MP DSC-N1 (BEST camera I have EVER owned and have had it for five years). This one is my third. I wish I could say that I was excited and pleased about this one as I’ve been about the other two, but I’m not. Not even close. Since I was so pleased with the first two cameras I had NO problem being brand-loyal and staying with Sony. I did look at other digital cameras to see what they had and basically no one had everything I was looking for in one camera like Sony. 14.1 MP, HD video recording, different shooting modes, and a compact size. I’m no pro but I know about my digital cameras. Since my DSC-N1 broke (sniff) I immediately compared this camera to that one. It had to be better right? Wrong. Glaringly wrong! For starters the touch screen isn’t as nearly clear as the DSC and the picture quality is FAR from what I expected. Going from an 8.1 MP to a 14.1 MP, I should have seen a dramatic change in picture quality. Actually… I did. But in the opposite direction. How can an 8.1 produce clearer shots than a 14.1? And they both have the Carl Zeiss lens! When I download the pictures to my computer and blow them up there is a definite and quite obvious difference in the picture quality. Not cool. The other thing that is very frustrating is the “fishbowl” effect on the edge of the pictures. The middle of the picture is OK but the outer edges look like I gave this camera to Aqua-Man and told him to go for it. Having my pictures look like that is unforgiveable. I have tried different settings, mixing and matching but nothing seems to get rid of that “fishbowl” effect. I was trying to be “smart” and not get the camera I wanted because of the money. Next time I’ll know better. This was an expensive lesson to learn but I’ve learned it. I’m so frustrated with this camera I threw it up on Craigslist barely two weeks after I got it to try and get rid of it. Unfortunately the only takers I’ve had have been the “I’ll send you a money order” scammers. This camera comes with all the bells and whistles but unfortunately the important ones, pictures and picture quality, fall way way short.

I bought this camera right before moving to Italy and didn't get a chance to use it prior to leaving. I already have a DSLR but wanted a compact as well. I was hugely disappointed because the pictures come out very distorted. The lines of the buildings do not go up straight, they are skewed inwards. I think it's due to the panoramic shot capabilities. It does something to the camera that distorts all the other images shot with the regular setting. And even the panoramic aren't that great. I wish I could take it back and find it a waste of $280 since the pictures do not come out as good as they did with my 5 megapixel cybershot. I'm disappointed in this model and would love to get my money back but it's too late. I wouldnt recomment buying it at all.

This is an amazing camera, most when using no flash to take a picture turns blurry, this doesn't at all. Love this. Also, this has a touch focus, amazing for macro or background blurring. I was going to get the TX1, but I could'nt find it anywhere, so got this from Wal-Mart. :-)

This really is a great little point ans shoot. If you had trouble with battery life follow the instructions! 1. charge the battery 2. Once the charge light goes off leave it on the charger for another hour 3. put the battery in the camera and do not turn it on for 24hours. After I did what the instructions said my battery life has been awesome!

i thought this camera was excellent for it's price. i preordered two months ahead of time and got it a few days before i was expecting it, which was very nice and in time for my vacation. it takes great photos and my friends and i can't get enough of the panoramic sweep. the touch screen is much more responsive than the previous cybershot cameras i've owned. the different scenes and modes make the photos look better in different environments, as always (sony has always been good with that) and film recording is great as well. my friends and i filmed the same scene with a handy cam and my camera and the audio from my camera came out to be a lot better. i'm very satisfied (:
