I bought this camera to replace a Kodak Easyshare M863 which a friend accidentaly dropped. I must say I am quite surprised and impressed with the performance of this Cyber-Shot, in comparison to my previous one. At under $100, the quality and sharpness of the pictures is excellent. It takes good pictures in low light, so no complaints about the flash. It took very little time to charge it. It might be a tad slower to recharge before another picture can be taken, but this is not bothersome for a recreational user like me. I have only had the camera for a month, but I am very satisfied with the quality of the pictures I have taken until now, in both interiors and exteriors. So far, I cannot think of any cons. I just hope it will stay like this for a long while...

The Sony DSC-Wx50 Digital Camera is a straight-forward point-and-shoot with 16.2 megapixels packed into an Exmor R CMOS sensor. That means, even though it's a compact camera, you can shoot detailed photos that look great big or small - even on your HDTV or blown up to a poster-size print. Additionally, the Wx50 shoots 1080i video, giving you the ability to take full advantage of social media sites with your movies.
Along with features like iSCN - which detects 33 scene conditions and automatically adjust camera settings for you - the Wx50 also puts a number of creative and advanced capture options at your fingertips. From the ease of using the Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature for one shot landscapes to the Background Defocus function for a look more frequently associated with DSLR capture, this camera has an extensive menu of useful capabilities. Other such features include Anti-blink, Soft Skin mode, Sweep Multi Angle and then some.
Of course, you can't get great shots without the right tools. The Wx50 has a 2.7"Clear Photo LCD for composition, review and menu navigation. A Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 5x optical zoom - and 10x Clear Image Zoom - gives you the ability to zoom in close or go out wide for great shots from groups and landscapes to interiors. Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization keeps images blur-free, even when the camera is hand-held and the built-in flash gives you great stills when shooting in low-light. SD/SDHC/SDXC and Memory Stick Duo media all can be used with the camera for convenient file storage.
