I purchased a Sony Alpha 300K because I have several Minolta AF lenses. Every test exposure and pix series I've made have been just what I wanted and expected. While I was in Wales, this summer, I noticed that several pros had Sony Alpha systems. I have a Sony DSC-H7 and have made great photos of the USN Blue Angels and many great land based flower macros and landscapes. Being older I began to have problems seeing using the EVF. So it was time to start using an optical viewfinder camera. Features and price meant the DSLR Alpha 300K.

This is a great camera. I use Sony, Minolta and Tamron glass with it. I also have a Sony DSC H5 which is also a great camera but it does not shoot in RAW.

Have had camera for over a year and shoot several hundred shots a month. Use to be a 35mm camera guy but this DSLR has converted me. Glad to hear camera based on Minolta. Changing lens can be kind of clunky, but learned to work thru it. I like the 3 or 4 shots a second ability. Now all i need is a good flash for it.

I previously used a Canon and changed after it kept freezing while shooting frequent or continuous shots. I have kids and take many pictures right after one another or continuously (like at their sporting events). The Sony A300 has never froze up on me and the pictures always turn out great. I can not tell you how many people comment on my pictures and ask "what kind of camera do you use". I have not one single complaint about it. Highly recommend it.

"This is the first SLR I have ever owned and I absolutely love it!! I am the mother of three small children so I have been able to capture all of the wonderful things they do with out hesitation. I do recommend you purchase a extra lens. I purchased the SAL-75300 and it works great. I am able to take pictures of my son on the baseball field that look like I am on the field myself. Its very easy to operate which is what really made me purchase it."

I have had this camera for more than a month now and have been very impressed with how this camera seems to handle everyday shooting very well. I have used Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, and Sony DSLR's before and found that most if not all will deliver great photo's on a daily basis. But 2 things set the A300 &A350 apart from their competition. The first is their Live view with tilt screen, I just like most photographers were not to open of having a feature like this due to how the camera would perform. Sony put that problem to rest with the use of a second sensor it aloud for the camera to do a much better job than that of Nikon, Canon, and everyone else for that matter. The second was the camera's ability to use the creative wireless flash feature you normally don't find in a DSLR of this price point, which makes it a great second camera for me but one heck of a camera for Novice or beginner.

This camera was a gift to myself. I upgraded from a point & shoot. My pictures are much better in a variety of settings, indoor or outdoor shots, day or night.

We purchased this camera while planning for an african safari. The pictures that it took are unbelievably beautiful and clear. Action shots of animals are hard to get but this camera performed beyong our expectations.
