Sony Lover

I already owned a Sony A100 10 MPX and I was very happy with it until recently. It seemed that there was some shutter lag and I was getting dark shadows in some of my pictures. So, I proceeded to start looking for a new camera. I thought maybe it was time to look at a different brand, but I would have to buy new lenses and I did not want to invest that much right now. So, I found the A390 and the price was right. I have to say I was not dissapointed. It was easy to get used to all the different buttons. The one thing I was not happy with is where they put the AV button, it is not easy to get to. Also the AEL button is missing. I haven't found how to get around that yet. Overall it was worth the price and more.

Great first Camera

I am a freelance photographer and college student. I also have my own photography business. I purchased this product 1 year ago. It was my first DSLR camera. I was extremely excited to finally have the funds to purchase it. Overall, its the best camera on the planet in my book. It has everything that any photographer is going to need. One thing that I wish that I knew before purchasing it is if it had video, which this camera does not have. I later found out that Sony has two different collections of DSLR cameras, ones that have video and ones that don't have video. But if you are strictly photography and not video, this camera will be prefect for you. It's not hard to operate and if you sit down to see what does what, you will get very use to using the Sony Alpha A390.

First time DSLR buyer satisfied with cho

Was set on the Canon G12 then I read reviews, switched to Nikon D7000. Both had issues. What I really wanted was 1). a viewfinder; 2). changeable lens, 3). a system that was going to be around and which had levels of quality. After reading a bunch of reviews I picked the Sony A390. I've been very pleased with my choice. Satisfied with the quality, sharpness and ease of use. At a recent family event I thought my pics better than my daughter-in-law's Canon Rebel! Usable fine Minolta lens available as well, a plus!

Everthing I need and more

I'm still learning all the features of the camera but so far I have been very pleased with all aspects of the camera. I also like the fact that I can use my old Minolta lenses with this camera.

Excellent resolution with kit lens

I have not had a single focus issue as I did with my previous dslr, it even focuses in low light and with 800 iso I have captured shots I would not have gotten with my previous camera, which was less than 2 years old. I thought at first this was a downgrade from that camera, but I sold that one and kept this one as my every day camera. OVF is pretty poor only negative.

nice, very nice!

This camera is a fine addition to my photo arsenal. it makes for an easy transition from 35mm to digital. I am pleased to see that Sony has continued the high quality standards that i have always found in Minolta's film cameras. It is far superior to others in it's price range. I love it. Can't think of anything negative about it. Buy it, You'll be happy too.

Sony Alpha A390 - Great Camera!

My wife and I are semi-novice photographers. I did a lot of research and the other brands with a comparable feature set were significantly more expensive. Even the other brands' entry level models with far fewer features were pricier. This camera has and can do all that we need. It will be a long time before we get to a point where we'll need to upgrade.
