Decent Accessory
Bought this before going to Peru to hike the Inka Trail to Machupicchu (which was absolutely, amazing and awesome - thanks to G Adventures).
Very easy to set up and use, although the overall feel of the unit is cheap and plasticy, like you really need to look after it. The carrying case that comes with it, has a clear front, which the unit sticks to once it's inside, so the unit is hard to put in or take out. I bought a Lowe neoprene small camera pouch instead, which worked well except for not being able to see the unit once it's inside.
The light characters on the dark background in the display are difficult to read once the back-light turns off - it should really be the other way around.
Battery life was quite good, pretty close to rated, but the battery metre often seemed to go from full to empty very suddenly, and since there is no audio alarm that the battery is almost spent, the unit just turns-off with no warning, resulting in mixed logging activitiy.
I have no regrets buying it. I bought it online elsewhere than Sony.ca and paid about $40 less - although it's hard to find.

Works well
I have owned this for about a year and use it whenever I am taking photos. Because it supports SD and MSduo cards, we use it for all our cameras. And when we go on vacation we can add GPS info to everyone's photos as long as we sync the camera times.

great product, several flaws
I've owned and use this product for over a year, recommending it to my students and dozens of field professionals. The on-off button is seriously mis-designed, as it is off-center from the pcb switch it is supposed to activate. Last week it broke, so the unit was inoperable. Solution: remove plastic button, cover hole with tape. To turn on or off, peel back tape and use pencil to activate the switch. Works great.

OVER ALL I LIKE IT, DOES WELL
I LIKE THE UNIT OVER ALL. DOES THE JOB I AM WANTING TO BE DONE. SOFTEWARE IS NICE ALSO, EASY TO USE AND UPDATE ITEMS. NICE ON TRIPS TO SEE WHERE U HAVE BEEN AND ALSO PUT PIC'S THERE. THE BACK LID OVER TIME I KNOW WILL NOT CLOSE RIGHT AFTER MANY OPENINGS. AFTER RESEARCHING MANY MINI ITEMS LIKE THIS, FOR THE MONEY IT IS THE BEST I THINK. IF U WANT A GOOD LITTLE UNIT. BUY I T U WILL BE HAPPY. JIM
