The RX0 II compresses the high-quality imaging technology from the RX-series into an ultra-compact, robust and waterproof body. The ZEISS Tessar T 24mm1 F4.0 fixed wide-angle lens, paired with the 1" (1.0-type) stacked back-illuminated 15.3MP5 Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and BIONZ X image processor deliver sharp images and incredible 4K video that can be recorded internally. Steady shots with electronic image stabilization and a convenient LCD that tilts up 180 Degree and down 90 Degree for high and low angles shots - ideal for selfie-shooting and vlogging.

1" Stacked back-illuminated Exmor RS CMOS Sensor
This large 1" (1.0-type) stacked back illuminated Exmor RS image sensor with BIONZ X image processing engine not only enhances efficiency and speed of A/D (analogue to digital) conversion through its stacked structure with more circuit sections; it also realizes super-fast readout speed. Additionally, the back illumination technology increases light collection efficiency and reduces noise in shots taken at up to ISO 12,800.
24mm F4 ZEISS Tessar T lens
The 24mm1 F4 ZEISS Tessar T lens delivers high-resolution images with less image distortion in peripheral areas, despite its wide-angle lens design. Improved minimum focusing distance is 7.9" (20cm), optimal for selfies and close-up shots. Employing 6 elements in 6 groups including 6 aspheric elements - this ZEISS lens intensifies recordings' contrast and sharpness. Furthermore, you can capture improved images and suppress occurrence of ghosts and flare by using an optional hood.
Advanced BIONZ X image processing engine
The RX0 II premium lens and sensor are complimented by the high-speed Sony BIONZ X image processing engine that powers conversion of light captured by the sensor, rendering photos and movies with natural details, realism, richer tonal gradations and low noise. Internal 4K recording is now possible due to the performance of BIONZ X which has been increased by a factor of about 1.8 compared to the previous RX0. In addition, face and Eye AF speed have been improved along with increased buffer when shooting multiple images continuously.
Internal 4K movie with image stabilization
The RX0 II offers 4K (3840x2160) 24p/30p internal movie recording with electronic image stabilization and full pixel readout with no pixel binning to collect approximately 1.7 times the amount of data required for 4K video. This oversampling reduces the appearance of moire and jaggies and delivers smooth, high quality 4K footage with exceptional detail and depth. Using the Sony Imaging Edge mobile application and Movie Edit add-on app, this footage can be transferred to a smartphone, edited, and shared easily across social networks. Even the image stabilization can be enhanced as the Movie Edit add-on app utilizes gyro information captured while shooting. Uncompressed 4K is also available via HDMI output and compatible recording devices.
Compact robust design
The RX0 II's extra rigid super duralumin body and ultra-compact dimensions make great shots easier to take even in the toughest situations. Weighing in at only 0.30 lb. and measuring a miniscule 2.375" x 1.625" x 1.1875", the RX0II is also waterproof down to 33 ft (10m) without underwater housing and shockproof to impact of drops to the ground from heights up to 6.5 ft. (2m). The highly reliable, robust RX0 II is also crushproof4 under weights up to 200kgf / 440 lbf / 2000N.
15.3MP up to 16fps continuous shooting
Despite its 15.3MP high pixel count, the super-high-speed image sensor boosts readout speed to the extent that the camera can achieve continuous shooting up to 16fps. This lets you capture moments of fleeting beauty or facial expressions in an instant.
Super Slow Motion
Slow motion video can be captured up to 120fps in HD with sound. Super slow motion at frame rates of up to 960/1000fps is available to transform even the most mundane moment into something spectacular. Slow motion shooting at 480/500fps and 240/250fps maintains fine images at nearly HD quality with the choice of Quality Priority mode. End trigger mode lets you capture the decisive moment in super slow motion starting from two or four seconds before the REC button is pressed.
Advanced video features and mic in jack
Desirable filmic looks are available with Picture Profiles which determine the character of movies by changing basic parameters like chromogenic effects and gradation adjustment. S-Log is a proprietary gamma setting from Sony that is invaluable for professionals seeking post-production flexibility, and extends the dynamic range of recording to reduce occurrence of blown-out highlights and black crush.
Time code is also included which greatly aids in synchronizing cameras in multi-camera shooting. The RX0 II also features a mini microphone input jack which enhances audio through optional external microphones and a Proxy Recording setting that captures a smaller proxy file for faster sharing and editing.

Miniature dimensions and all-around versatility maximize your freedom to take and use the RX0 II effortlessly anywhere in creative ways - especially with other RX0 II cameras spread around to shoot from various perspectives. Properly-aligned multiple RX0 II cameras can be used together for creative setups from multi-camera angles, 3D, bullet-time to light-field arrays and even volumetric, thanks to the camera's minimal symmetric design and synchronized connectivity.
On its own or as part of a full-scale multi-camera system, the RX0 II can extend imaginations and open eyes to unprecedented recording possibilities.
Wireless multi-control function
Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, up to five cameras can be controlled with Imaging Edge Mobile ver. 7.1 or later and from 6 up to 50 cameras via an access point with Imaging Edge Mobile ver. 7.2 or later (scheduled in 2019 summer). Simply download free Imaging Edge Mobile app to your mobile device for remote control of camera shutter release, movie recording start/stop, and instant receiving of captured footage.
Bluetooth is also available and allows remote power on/off operation from your mobile device. Wireless control of up to 100 cameras through an access point and wired Ethernet control using optional CCB-WD1 camera control box accessory (one required per camera).
180 Degree tiltable LCD screen
Even with its ultra-compact body, the RX0 II boasts a tilting LCD screen for easy and convenient framing that tilts up 180 Degree and down 90 Degree . This makes it easy for shooting at different high and low angles as well as selfie shooting when flipped up 180 Degree . When paired with the optional VCT-SGR1 Shooting Grip, the RX0II's close focusing distance and 180 Degree tilting LCD makes it the ideal camera for vlogging.
Interval recording for time-lapse videos
Time-lapse movies document changes with the passing of time. The RX0 II features built-in interval recording, for time-lapse movie creation, that can be set anywhere between 1 and 60 seconds, with a total number up of shots from 1 to 9999. AE tracking sensitivity can be adjusted to "High", "Mid" or "Low" during interval shooting, allowing for reduced changes in exposure over the shooting interval.
The still images shot can then be edited into a time-lapse movie on a computer with the Viewer software from the Imaging Edge software suite. A convenient variable-speed preview function is also provided to get an image, on the camera, of how the finished movie will look.
Anti-distortion shutter of up to 1/32000 sec.
Thanks to the Exmor RS sensor's extremely fast readout, the anti-distortion shutter is capable of speeds up to 1/32000 sec. which minimizes image distortion caused by the rolling shutter phenomenon that can otherwise distort shots of swiftly moving subjects and video panning.

Creative Style
Bring out the character of your scene with any of 13 Creative Style settings. The camera adjusts color and other parameters of movie and still images while letting you manually fine-tune the contrast, saturation, and sharpness to achieve the look you desire. Saturation settings are not available when B/W or Sepia mode is selected.
