Just bought this having owned the RX100 MkV previously. The earlier camera gave stunning results but so far this little beauty is superb. Image quality is outstanding for such a small camera. Be great to compare similar images against my Nikon Z8 at the right time.

I'm impressed by the quality if the photo I've taken so far, but am struggling to get my head around all of the features. Far more complex then anything I've owned to date.

I normally use large Canon and Leica cameras (which I love) but there are so many times you see a potential shot and don't have anything better than a smartphone to take a photo with. The old sayings "the best camera you have is the one you have with you" and "the number of photos you take is in inverse proportion to the size of camera you use" still hold good. After looking at every option in the pocket camera category - including the equivalent from Canon and Leica - I bought a Sony RX100 VII. It feels reassuringly solid but I recommend the AG-R2 grip, especially if you ever want to shoot one-handed. So far, the results are much better than I hoped for out of a camera this size. I can see it going everywhere with me in the future. The proper viewfinder is a real bonus, though the fold out screen is a pleasure to use.

Bought for travelling. Just done test photos and surprised at quality of results and flexibility of camera. If used Sony before same menu layout as their range. Price a bit heavy but to date satisfied. Did buy a grip for camera which aids with hand holding of the unit

Still the best point shoot out in 2025, would still recommend to this day! Better then the latest iPhone 17 pro and s25ultra and just as compact, but a lot less distracting then your smart phone on vacation!

Am still getting to grips with this new serious device - good thing I have small hands. But first impressions are that it offers too much screen info. Quality of images is super. You might want to check out after market accessories.

I really like the light weight and pocket sized nature of the camera, but with it replicating much of my Sony A77 SLRs features and functionality. Very good quality images and great lens. On the negative side, I was shocked to find it still had a micro USB (instead of USB C) connection and that it does not have a GPS chip to record the location of images taken. (There is a pretty naff workaround using your phone for this) The menus are also not intuitive - I found you need to sit with the on line manual and carefully go through them, or you miss out on a number of useful features. It also, as has been extensively reported, is not easy to grip and pretty easy to drop - you need to wear the wrist strap at all times. Again I was shocked that Sony offer a self adhesive grip for the camera - at over £1000 for the camera, if it needs one, it should come with it fitted (and preferably better than a self adhesive one)

It's still early days but I can confidently say that trading in my bulky DSLR kit for the RX100 has proved to be the right call. So far, the Sony has given me the same control and flexibility in a camera I can genuinely in a jeans pocket and I'm starting to explore the additional features that come with the RX100.

This camera it's fantastic, such a good quality and it's so compact, I am in love with it, my only concern it's the battery , if it's full charged it will keep you to do pictures for 25 min only.

The Sony RX100 VII is a powerhouse in a pocket-sized body. Image quality is sharp and vibrant, the 24-200mm zoom is super versatile, and the autofocus is lightning fast. Perfect travel companion-DSLR performance without the bulk!

So far, I dont see anything bad about this camera. I can really take it with me all the time and get high quality pictures. Even my friends who own fullframe camera are getting jealous that I dont have to carry heavy lens like them and still get good pictures.

I recently bought this camera and since I upgraded from the 1V version the extras such as 200 zoom and easier pop up eye view finder give such make it a true experts camera. However it is also easy to use as a beginner. So much ability that fits in my pocket.

This is my second RX100 camera. It is one of the last remaining compact cameras offering a pro-featured stills specification. It seems today the focus is all towards video. If you want a compact camera with pro-specs for stills photography this a literally your only option. It's a great option. Would be better if they designed the lens to take filters, though I guess the fear is in doing so, putting filters on and off the lens my damage its delicate powered zoom. If a new version is launched I hope it will have a base that has a arca swiss mount profile.

I purchased this camera about 1 year ago and have been using it since. In December of last year, our family went to Italy for 2 weeks and I used the camera extensively. I really like the wide angle to telephoto range (24-200mm). I got some great photos and have posted to the photography forum I use online. Many compliments. I highly recommend this camera.

In most respects, this seems to be a great compact digital camera; however, I have only been using it for a few days and have much to learn. My one criticism thus far is the optical viewfinder which does not seem easy to see through, continued use and experience will tell

I bought a Sony ZV-1 a few years ago but wished I had just saved a little more and bought the RX100VII. After selling the ZV-1, I waited a while as I thought Sony would release a RX100 MK8 but it looks like that isn't happening anytime soon. Just get the MK7 and know you have the best.

I was looking to downsize my mirrorless system as it was getting too heave to carry around all day. After a lot of research and a visit to the Sony stand at the London Photography show last month, I decided to buy the RX100M7. very glad I did. It does almost all of what my previous camera did at a fraction of the weight, and produces fantastic pictures. The only gripe is the need to add the Sony Rubber grip. without the grip it is easy for the camera to slip out of my fingers, it is much more secure to hold with the grip. I am sure Sony could add it to the package for a much more rounded offer.

So nearly the perfect travel camera
By ARIXY
I've owned a RX100 V for some time and absolutely loved the quality of the images and the options available however it always seemed the zoom range was a bit limited and the lack of a microphone input was a real pain when shooting video. The RX100 VII has almost become my ideal travel camera in that it has both a much longer zoom range and a microphone input but, for some reason Sony has decided to take out the neutral density filter! Presumably it wouldn't fit with the longer zoom lens but i...

What a great little powerhouse of a camera.

I came from a Nikon d750 with a range of lenses from 24mm to 200mm. It got old lugging all that gear around. I wanted small but still something I could count on for great high quality images. So, I got me a Sony RX100 M7... I have had this camera now for 9mo. It takes a little getting used to and you need to spend some time with its feature set, which is enormous btw. If you do you will find a very capable camera. I am pleased with IQ and how very fast the camera is. It starts quickly, shoot...
