This lens now permanently resides on my a5100 used as a webcam through a capture card. A very expensive webcam but the picture quality is worth it. Clients often mention the quality and clarity of the image so it is clearly well received.

I bought this one new, as it is so cheap! It's well made for the money, and makes my a6400 into a 35mm equivalent high-end compact. I haven't used it very much, but the quality of the images is very good and it is very light and small.

This lens is Awesome for carrying the smallest possible footprint on a6300 or similar. Its a tiny bit soft image wise. But if you are needing to take a small package to a family gathering. Portraits come out great.

Turned my A6000 into such a versatile pocket and everyday carry camera. I have NO regrets adding this as it's main lens

This is a very compact lens, barely extending past the hand grip when attached to a Sony A6300. At this size it really takes over the role of a separate point and shoot camera for me. It may not be as sharp or wide as other more expensive primes, but the point of this lens is to be as small as possible while still getting quality images. I highly recommend this lens to anyone with a Sony A6xxx series camera. If you get the lens with the free package from Adorama, the Sony A6300 with this lens fits into the lens bag they include for a very snug, padded "camera" case. If you already have the small 16-50mm kit lens this may not be worth it.

I bought the Sony a6000 because it has fast autofocus and it's very small. I also wanted to try this lens on it. It's a sharp little fast prime, and the compact hood lets it keep that small size. I can actually put the camera and lens in a pocket, it's a great combination for street shooting, 20 mm is a good length and it's pretty discreet. The only problem I've seen is that I can't put the hood on a standard filter. Maybe there is a way, but I haven't really looked into it.l

I got this for my A6300, it is a great small pancake lens. The small size makes it a great companion for the lens. While it is not a very "fast" lens, 2.8 is great for general use. The 20mm is also a great length for every day use.

This lens gives an equivalent of 30mm focal length at full frame, which is perfect for street photography and taking pictures of your own kids. Highly recommend this lens.

This is a great lens. I like it because it is compact and provides a field of view that I enjoy shooting. I am not a pixel peeper nor a person who is concerned about what others perceive as being weak at the edges of the frame, but rather enjoy the color rendition given by the lens and the fact that because of its size, I can hand hold and shoot at low speeds if need be.

Pros: Small & light Great, but not excellent image quality Quick to focus, easy to use focal length Cons: A bit expensive (retail price) Not significant, but noticeable barrel distortion

This isn't the sharpest lens, but it is still pretty very sharp in the center and gets a little soft in the corners. But it is so portable. It feels like a point and shoot with the a6000.

Compared to the stock kit of the sony a5100 16-50mm pz oss, its not much of an improvement. Only reason why I am still keeping this lens is because of the weight. its 69g vs 116g stock it. I switch to a mirrorless because of the huge weight difference. The 20mm is slightly sharper but only noticeable if you zoom in on the picture. Low light photos are not much of a difference. I had a few blurry pictures. the 16-50mm has oss so just about every shot was clear. One of biggest disappointment is how much vignette is on the pictures. Even on the on camera screen you can see the vignette. its very noticable on 80% of the picture i have taken. If you have the 16-50mm pz lens don't bother getting this lens.

Bought this to use with an A6000 to take photos indoors over the Xmas period. It worked a treat and I got some great shots. As the combo was so small I popped in my coat pocket and took it out walking where it proved great for some lovely landscape shots. Overall really pleased with the lens, a perfect match to the A6000.

I've had the lens for a few months now and it really complements my A6000. The lens is quite small so, when attached to my A6000 I can fit it into a coat pocket. The quality of the images it produces are very good and exceptional for the price. I read a number of positive reviews of other makes of camera's with non-interchangeable lenses, especially for Street Photography. They claim that the fixed lens, often around 23mm, and camera deliver great results. However, the A6000 plus the E 20mm F2.8 delivers far greater performance, great image quality and, in a lot of cases, for less money - plus I can change the lens if I wish. It's a great lens and, with the A6000, a great photography package.

I am a new photographer. I only had the Nex-7 and this lens since since November 2013. After shooting for the last six, I am finally learning just how good this lens can be. Best shots so far have been wide cityscape panoramas. I have also a few favorite up close photos inside a bar. I am definitely excited to bring this guy to Yellowstone and Arches National Park later this summer. Pro: It's considerably sharper than the 16mm pancake lens. Cons: I do wish it was a little bit faster. But what do you want for the price?

I have been using this wide angle lens since July 2013 and it has become my go to lens for landscapes and portraits. Basically, I use it for all kinds of photo taking. The lens produces great photos in natural light. My photos are sharp and vibrant. I've attached an unedited photo.

I'm not a multiple lens camera guy (I don't like carrying any bag of extras; annoying!) and I rely on a good camera lens to suffice. I have been taking more indoor restaurant photos lately and knew that maybe a good Wide/angle lens just might satisfy my needs, more natural candid shots, better night photos, low light photo-shots to reach the goal of a "no-need flash" photos. Well, this Sony 20mm 2.8 lens has indeed reached that goal. The clarity, surprisingly sharpness of my photos has been superb, and I'm just a part-timer camera-partisan. Very sharp photos, now I keep that 20mm lens on most, if not all the time.

After reading the mediocre reviews for the SEL16F28, I ended up trying this lens (SEL20F28). The lens has proved to be very handy, and I am generally happy with the photos. The photos are sharp, but low light scenes may be a little dark with some vignetting. Two jpeg photos are uploaded for review. There was no post processing except for cropping both pictures to reduce them to the 5mb limit for this review.

This prime lens extends your perspective to a 30mm equivalent focal length on a full-frame camera, offering a broader canvas for your photographic expressions. Its engineering excellence and aesthetic design ensure that your visual narratives are captured with remarkable precision and beauty.
A Masterpiece of Minimalism
The sleek, pancake-style build of the E 20mm f/2.8 lens is a testament to Sony's commitment to portability without sacrificing quality. With a profile that protrudes a mere 0.8 inches from the camera body, it is even more compact than its counterpart, the SEL16F28, by 2mm. Optical Excellence in a Compact Package
Equipped with advanced optics, including three aspherical elements, the lens is meticulously crafted to minimize aberrations such as astigmatism, field curvature, and coma. The result is consistently sharp, clear, and undistorted images across the entire frame. The 20mm focal length, equivalent to 30mm on a full-frame sensor, paired with the bright f/2.8 aperture, allows for stunning image capture, even in low-light conditions.
Autofocus Precision Meets Artistic Control
The lens features a sophisticated rear focusing mechanism that enhances autofocus speed while maintaining a remarkable minimum focusing distance of just 7.9 inches. This allows for intimate close-up shots with exquisite detail. Complementing this is the rounded seven-blade diaphragm, which contributes to a pleasing bokeh effect, softly blurring the background and making your subjects pop with a three-dimensional feel.
