Discontinued without a replacement !

I just got Sony's DSC-RX1/RX1R , It's a good camera, but pricy with pricy accessories. This VCT55 LH is made for several Sony digital camera models and is reasonably priced. When trying to order it I was disappointed to learn that NOT only is this item discontinued but that there is NO replacement available. I use the Sony accessory viewfinder, so now I have no way to mount the /sony shotgun mic.

Not compatible with ECM-ALST1 Mic

Wanted a bracket to allow SLT-A55 to have flash on camera hotshoe and ECM-ALST1 mic on this bracket as mic does not use camera hot shore and plugs into the camera. I as assured by Sony support (2 different people) and camera store that it would work. Not true mic does NOT fit on a standard cold shoe.
