Capture One Pro 12 a Powerful Photo Editing Program

The photo editing software is excellent - better than the Lightroom 5 I had been using until I bought Capture One Pro 12. It has powerful masking features; I especially like its Lunamask which enables one to mask very fine details. Like Lightroom the program uses Catalogues for storing editing steps, but this database can be either global (as in Lightroom) or local through C1's session. All in all, a very good photo editing program.

The photo editing software is excellent - better than the Lightroom 5 I had been using until I bought Capture One Pro 12. It has powerful masking features; I especially like its Lunamask which enables one to mask very fine details. Like Lightroom the program uses Catalogues for storing editing steps, but this database can be either global (as in Lightroom) or local through C1's session. All in all, a very good photo editing program.

System Requirements

We recommend that your computer has at least the minimum specifications outlined below to run Capture One 12.

Microsoft Windows minimum requirements
• CPU with 2 cores or better
• 8 GB of RAM
• 10 GB of free hard disk space
• Color calibrated monitor with 1280x800, 24-bit resolution at 96dpi screen ruling
• Windows 7 SP1 64-Bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit
• Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.7 (will be installed if not present)
• A PDF reader is needed to read the Release Notes
• An Internet connection is needed when activating Capture One

Apple Macintosh minimum requirements
• CPU with 2 cores
• 8 GB of RAM
• 10 GB of free hard disk space
• Calibrated color monitor with 1280x800, 24-bit resolution at 96dpi
• Mac OS X.10.12.6, 10.13.6 or 10.14.x - Support for macOS 10.14 is supported for builds up to 10.14.1

Recommended system requirements
If working with high-resolution images and doing calculation-heavy adjustments we recommend the following:
• Intel CPU with 4 cores or better
• 16GB of RAM or more
• Leave plenty of hard disk space free (100Gb recommended)
• A fast hard disk e.g. a Solid State Disk (SSD)
• Dual graphics cards from the same provider, i.e. NVIDIA or AMD with
• 4GB+ RAM per card
