Designed to benefit an all-around photographic workflow, the SLR Lounge Newborn Photography Workshop Collection and Lightroom Presets is a two-disc tutorial covering all aspects of newborn photography, from shooting to post-production. Containing more than 8 hours of video tutorials, as well as 74 Lightroom presets, 2 Photoshop actions and 45 RAW exercise files, this workshop provides in-depth instruction on how to make successful photographs of newborns.
The first disc begins with an introduction on how to plan and prepare for shooting and quickly segues into techniques on posing, lighting and working with props during the shoot. From here, the second DVD picks up after the shoot and provides step-by-step instruction on handling and editing these photographs in Adobe Lightroom 4 or 5.
DVD 1-The Newborn Photography Workshop

The first DVD begins instruction on basic and advanced newborn baby poses, including back, side and stomach positions along with variations of each. Moving to the advanced poses, tips are given on how to take candid photographs, work with different sleeping poses, as well as how to incorporate wraps and other props into the imagery.
Amazing Results with Simple Lighting
With a focus on creating simple but effective lighting, this portion of the tutorial instructs on how to develop professional-quality lighting using just a reflector and natural window light.
Learn Newborn Safety and Comfort
Respecting the subject is the foremost priority when photographing newborns and this section offers some useful tips and techniques for ensuring safety and comfort during a shoot.
Accessories and Props
For accentuating the newborn within the scene, as well as offering some comfort and safety, this section teaches you how to find props that are both inexpensive as well as tasteful. Additionally, some instruction is given on basic color theory and how pairing the color of different props can be used to complement the newborn being photographed.

Enjoy 74 Lightroom Presets
This disc comes with 74 different presets for Lightroom, including 39 one-click develop presets and 35 brush presets. These have been specifically developed for use with newborn photography and help to achieve the results shown throughout the workshop.
Follow with RAW Exercise Files
A series RAW exercise files are included, along with step-by-step instruction on ways to process each file from scratch. During this training, it is recommended to first watch the tutorials and then try the learned techniques on the same image afterward.
22 Start-to-Finish Examples
Following the first batch of 10 start-to-finish exercise files, 12 more user-submitted files are included for practice in developing greater versatility with the included presets. This range of imagery allows you to hone your processing abilities using different subjects and styles of newborn photography.
