I often need to make quick edits on location. If it's a sunny day, it's nearly impossible to see a laptop screen in harsh sunlight. I looked into the available solutions and chose Digi Shade because it didn't require any extra mounting modifications and it's size. This mounts to a MacBook Pro via a magnet in the shade and the metal in the retina screen. It's easily mounted and removed. It stays in place when mounted. It's also of a size that isn't obtrusive to others in the near vicinity. Does it work? Sort of. If shields out a good portion of sunlight but doesn't block off all reflections. If you're in direct sunlight, it's still difficult to see the screen. Moving into a shaded area where an uncovered screen is still difficult to read, this works well. Out in the open, I still use a jacket over my head and laptop to really block out all light. Ideally, no one wants to be making edits in overhead noon sunshine. If it has to be done, the Digi Shade provides partial shading.
