It doesn't sound crisp at all, the bass is weak, and the mid/high range sounds flat. Absolutely the worst speakers I have tried.

when it is loud it is shocking, when it quiet it is soothing. clear sounds all around. got the whole set on sale for $500, what a deal. saw some reviews saying the speakers came in with scratches and pealing finishes. Mine had none of that they were in perfect condition. Note that it is dolby atmos "ready", you do have to purchases jamos atmos module. but they have no wires and it gives you a clean no mess set up. These speakers are pretty easy to drive, I use a costco Onkyo Onkyo TX-NR6050, and I use my pre existing 16 G wire from previous set up. the longest wire was about 25 ft.

Never received the subwoofer. Everything got shipped separately and sub got lost somewhere but they aren?t doing anything about it. I have the speakers up and they look really nice and sound good but I feel like a need a sub to make it sound great.

I had the J-10 subwoofer with this kit but I'm sure it sounds just as great, maybe with a bit less boom! Which some people prefer. I myself am a certified bass head so I was happy to have the better sub. Overall, one of the best sounding systems I've owned. Not the loudest but the best sound quality which is more important to me now that I have developed a bit. I still gotta have it loud in my car but at home, it's all about the sound. These have it all. Sharp crisp highs, well balanced center that's not overbearing or non existent, very strong mid range and plenty of bass with the sub but still adequate if you want things toned down a bit without a sub shaking the floor. I loved these speakers and highly recommend them and will buy more at some point. I have an all klipsch reference and reference premier system now in my main listening area but want to put another system together for another area and will be using these. One other thing to say about these Jamo speakers is; I have bought, owned, and sold many speakers over the years and these have by far held the record for best resale value. I actually made some money off them when I sold them for the klipsch upgrade. I cannot say that about any other speakers I've sold, especially JBL. I almost had to give away the studio 570 system. I was not happy about that, no more of those for me no matter how good they sound. These Jamo S-809z are right there with the stupidio 570s, for much less! And people actually want them if you decide to sell them down the road. All my jamo speakers were sold within days. I sat on those JBLs for months and I keep all my equipment immaculate.

Hi, These are very good speakers. I tried to connect the speakers on my own to the Denon.I used 16 gauge wire to connect speakers. I hear very less sound for 60 points of volume. And better sound with 70 points. Please let me know why the sound is very low for 60 points. I strongly feel something is wrong with my wiring. Please suggest the right setup???

Adorama had this item listed a three different prices. Definitely worth the higher price, making the lowest price a real bargain. Solid, clean sound over the full frequency range, but still benefits from a subwoofer.

The Jamo s809 , s803 and s83 are an amazing combination for 5.1 sound setup. I drive these with a denon receiver and along with the 10 inch sub from svs, the sound quality and effect is beautiful. Very crisp and lively. Definitely worth the price.

I'm not an audiophile or a home theater expert. This was my first 5.1 setup. The subwoofer is either kind of weak, or I have it placed in the wrong position. I don't feel it rumble and it only sounds a bit better in the low HZ than the tower speakers (if at all). I like the center speaker's sound, but its REALLY big for a center. I don't see how it can be used naturally without a wall mounted TV or a really tall TV stand. The atmos modules that go with these never seem to be in stock, so later I bought polk OMW3 speakers to mount as front-heights instead and I don't regret that decision. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, but I may replace the subwoofer at some point and I'll need to find a permanent way to place the center that doesn't block all of my devices.

great bundle price/these towers vs my high quality polk tsx-220b bookshelf speakers add noticeable presence and clarity in my 20x20 tile floor living room. Am using the s803 speakers as surrounds and s83 for center(be aware before buying that the s83 center speaker is very large, so as a caution, you might want to measure your center speaker space before buying it. bottomline: just get this bundle at the sale price. also, see youtube review by Mr.robinson the recovering audiophile. you'll then appreciate these speakers even more. I also recommend the jamo s808 subwoofer when on sale to enhance the lower bass frequencies, although not absolutely necessary since the s809 towers have a lot of low end oomph.

I am impressed. I do prefer them with Movies and Television to music though. The price was great. One of the towers was damaged in shipping but it was only cosmetic.

I compared these with my friends klipsch set purchased from Costco for $900 and found that I actually preferred the Jamo set. For a budget surround setup I really don't believe there is a better deal out there

Best bang for your buck. Went from tv speakers to logitech 5.1 speakers to this setup and wow, what a difference! Was going back and forth between this and a Klipsch model but for the price, I'm glad I went with Jamo. Requires a lot more tweaking than with a plug and play powered speaker set but getting started in the home theater world should allow for more customization. (Also purchased the s8 atms and they are pretty awesome for my room configuration)

The Jamo 800 series is very stylish. The sound these speakers produce is quite exceptional. The vocals just scream. I'm listening to my favorite music through this system which makes each jam seem like a brand new experience. I will keep these speakers with no regret! The online pictures don?t really do the sizing justice but the 6.5? in the front widening to 7.5? towards back for the S803/S809 gives these speakers some volume that almost mystify my sense of perception. From the front these look relatively slim but they fill out towards the back- that makes viewing from an angle reveal the depth and actual thickness of these speakers that I believe add some visual flair beyond just being a ?box? and something more attractive as a speaker. Each of the speakers are weighty and feel sturdy. The build quality is solid. They also allow you to use banana plugs or just bare speaker wire depending on your preference. I am a huge fan of the all black and wood accents. The ports at the bottom are purposeful and give the speakers a really balanced look. I also like the tweed magnetic covers that are included for each of the speakers. These are great because they visually fit a room as furniture pieces essentially. They don?t look distinctly tacky or standout in an obtrusive way with branding or anything like other speakers. My setup is kind-of unorthodox given that I am not using this for my living room but rather for my desk setup. I am using the S803 as fronts and the S809 as surrounds so I can switch between (in consideration of people around me). I have two computer monitors blocking the center and right bookshelf due to positioning but I do not find much issue or lack of sound quality- it cuts the highs which I appreciate. View pictures for reference. This impacts how things optimally sound and differ from the ?proper? implementation of these speakers but given my limited living space; this works ideally for me. I am powering these with a Sony STR-DN840 receiver. These are V-shaped in sound. There is a preference for low-end and high-end that makes these not have a ?neutral?/flat tone. For my young ears, I love the bass heaviness and the annunciation of mid-highs/highs on these. Highs on these speakers are tiring and can be a bit too much if left stock. The soft tweeters let the high ends bleed over the mix which allow for a level of clarity but it?s a bit fatiguing. I found that I get my perfect sound by reducing the high-end frequencies in an equalizer. After doing so, I still retain the details but in a much less ?sharp? experience. These are great stock giving you a base for sound quality; even better with the personal edits in sound EQing/DSPing you make. I think it is a waste to use the S803?s as surrounds. They?re really good speakers that can be used as their own 2.1 channel/bookshelf setup. The bass is a highlight on these. It?s the reason why I?m using them as front?s and then the towers as surrounds. The bass response of these pulls you in and the front ports give me the impression that they?re moving all that pressure to the listener. It?s an experience. They?re ideal on my desk and they?re the main aspect of my current setup as they direct most of the sound directly to me rather than the towers/S809 which are designed for some distance in mind in a living room. The S809 is the S803 but with two more drivers and taller. The S809?s needs the tweeter directly at ear level. If they?re slightly ahead or below; you?re missing out on a lot of the actual sound and you?re just getting indirect highs and low-end. They sound good once positioned. The S83 center fill out the sound stage of an area. They direct sound directly at you and are mostly for dialogue. They?re fine. For me, as I previously mentioned, I get plenty of bass from the S803 and S809 bookshelves/towers. I am constantly wondering if I have my subwoofer on or off; and most of the time it?s off. For most people, I think you?re fine without a subwoofer. The S810 subwoofers look amazing/are compact. They?re extremely narrow and easy to be placed around. They?re visually attractive and make a smaller foot print in your living area. The subwoofers other people are touting to use are massive. These are incredibly attractive in aesthetic and are minimalistic while delivering tons of bass. They can and will get loud filling your room with low-end. These provide a nice foundation for the rest of the speakers as they handle more of the low-end and the rest of the speakers can fill out the rest of the sounds; the subwoofer acts as a helper of sorts. I am glad to know that if I ever need to move or something, I can place and bring this subwoofer anywhere or just simply upgrade. There?s a niche for this subwoofer and as long as you don?t expect too much given the technical size, 10? port, and only 150 W- these do just fine. Perfect for most to all music-types. These are very efficient and don?t require that much power. They get loud really easily and I don?t think I?ve ever pushed these to their limit- they would get too loud. These work in smaller areas and larger ones. It?s so versatile it?ll handle everything you can throw at it- and it sounds good.
