I bought this a couple of weeks ago and have zero regrets. Stylish, functions as advertised and it sounds incredible. Particularly like that it functions well with both Alexa and Google assistants.

I wish JBL was a little more transparent on which speakers could connect to each other. I was hoping to connect the JBL authentics 300 to a Boombox 2 but they cannot connect to one another. Great speakers though

I purchased the JBL Authentics 300 speaker as a part of the Music Lover Pro Bundle with the Spinner turntable. Reviewing it alone, I think it's an impressive addition to the streaming/portable audio market. From a design standpoint, this is a really sweet looking piece of gear. The retro design is so slick I don't need to stuff it in a cabinet. Quite the opposite, in fact - I'm proud to have this out for the masses. It has a vintage look, with the Quadrex foam grille paying homage to classic JBL speakers from the 1970s. Its interface is simplistic, but for me that's fine since most of what I need to do I do from the efficient JBL One app. It weighs in at 10.8 pounds, but that's more a testament to its robust construction than anything else. It fits perfectly on a shelf or tabletop without feeling intrusive, yet its presence is commanding enough to start up a conversation. A+ from my standpoint. I've been a fan of JBL's high-quality sound since the mid-80s, and the Authentics 300 did not disappoint me on that front, with immersive, room-filling sound that is surprisingly balanced. The bass is deep and rich, the mids are clear and natural, and the treble is crisp without being harsh. I can crank it up without distortion, which makes it perfect for parties or filling larger spaces. The clarity and depth of sound are impressive regardless of the type of music you listen to. The Authentics 300 supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Chromecast, making it easy to stream music from various platforms and devices. Connecting it to my Spinner BT turntable was a snap. Setting it up on my home wi-fi network was a straightforward process using the JBL One app. The integration with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant is seamless. It also has an ethernet port, 3.5mm auxiliary jack, and USB port for playback (I read this is U.S. only). One of the nice things about the Authentics 300, as opposed to its smaller (200) and larger (500) siblings is the addition of portability - you don't need to keep it plugged in in a single spot. Battery life is about 8 hours, which so far hasn't been a problem for me. Overall, the JBL Authentics 300 speaker is a great choice if you're looking for a high-quality, stylish audio solution. The combination of excellent sound performance, retro sleek design, and modern connectivity options makes it a standout product, in my opinion.

I got this speaker some time ago and just sitting listening to it this morning - this is,by far, the best , most crisp and clear speaker I've ever had. I said that about the last 2 Charges I had as well. ?? this one surpasses them big time! They put a retro clean look to this one and the carry handle makes it a complete deal. I'm sure the 500 produces even better sound, but the battery in the JBL Authentics 300 is the winner (for a lot lower price). I'm back in love with Music! Not that I was ever far away, but this baby takes me back to my awesome full blown stereo setup when I was 18. The only thing missing is the hiss, crackle, pop of vinyl in the Seventies. Vocals are represented sooo clearly, I feel like the artists are singing right in front of me. The mix is represented perfectly!

The speaker sounds fantastic. The wi-fi execution leaves much to be desired. I cannot confidently use Chrome to cast audio to the speaker. Alexa will not play Apple Music on this speaker, even though I have and use Apple Music on my other Alexa devices. Playing music via Google often ceases for no apparent reason. When streaming, if the device switches from one wi-fi point in my home to another, the stream stops. The iOS app does not work very well with VoiceOver.

So many cool things about this speaker! I love the design and get tons of compliments on it from guests and friends. The build materials all appear to be pretty solid quality - sturdy handle, nice feeling faux-leather body, and responsive dials for adjusting volume, bass, and tremble. The sound performance and battery life are also outstanding. I typically have it plugged in in my kitchen/dining area which it easily fills with high-quality sound, but it's also already become my go-to for park days (cue more compliments from strangers), and I haven't had to worry about losing charge halfway through. It's a great size for portability while still packing a punch even outdoors. Lastly, shout-out to JBL for making their packaging plastic-free. I always appreciate this and wish more consumer goods were moving in this direction faster. Overall super happy with the Authentics 300.

Stylish and excellent sounding speakers. I play mostly r&b/hip-hop and some electronic dance music. It sounds superb especially the low frequencies and you can dial it in on the JBL One app. Love the Wi-FI connectivity as I can connect to my Apple TV and play music from YouTube. The battery life leaves a lot to be desired. Depending on how loud you play your music that will determine the battery life. I played music for 2 hours straight after fully charged with the volume level at 55-65%. The battery life displayed 48%. I doubt it will last 8 hours as stated unless you play it super quiet. Your miles may vary. If you don't need portability and battery life I would opt for the Authentics 200. On another note, it is pricey and I wouldn't have bought it if wasn't on sale. Overall, I am happy with it.

I purchased my JBL Authentics 300 last month, it fits perfectly in my MCM style home and the sound quality is incredible and clear, even when it's at high volume. It also has a sleek design and looks beautiful sitting on my kitchen counter. Definitely worth the investment!

I really love the appeal of this speaker compared to other speakers in this market. Let me just say that the ability to fine tune the treble and bass balance makes it ideal for really turning up the volume without upsetting your neighbors. However with that being said this speaker is loud and has a lot of bass to it. You can definitely feel the bass. Then pair that with the built in microphone function makes it ideal for a kitchen or bathroom speaker.

Large sound, fairly balanced since you can tune it with the knobs. Sound stage is great, one of its strengths. Do think the detail retrieval is its weakest point. Build quality is superb. Great, good looking design, and the actual parts are all precisely put together, made of very high quality components. The hinges feel solid, the buttons and knobs feel amazing.

I recently received my JBL authentic and I have to say that this is a great speaker with easy Smart functions and sound to go. This speaker is completely immersed in sound and intelligence. This speaker has a great build and allows for usage of programs like Pandora and Spotify to work with its system. As a Bluetooth speaker, the connection is strong and stable. The bass is JBL patented and the the treble blends well. Overall, I would recommend.

Small but powerful and aesthetically pleasing in design. Connectivity was easy to the speaker. I was able to connect my iPhone to Bluetooth within seconds. The unit has the feature of voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google. The voice control feature can be easily turned on and off with a toggle switch on the back of the unit. The controls on the top of the unit are easy to use, well labeled. There is a total of 3 round, turn controls that allow you to adjust volume, treble, and bass. Three small buttons are for Bluetooth, Power, and Moment. The Moment feature allows you to access music playlists and settings personalized using the JBL One app. The unit is aesthetically pleasing in design. I'm happy with how well it will go with my mid century modern decor of my home. The front is a durable black cloth in a grid pattern covering the speaker. The sides of the unit are wrapped in a faux leather rubber material that's black in color. A light gold trims out the unit. The handle is easy to fold up and down. The AC power outlet is easy access in the rear of the unit. This unit despite it's retro appeal and small size puts out good sound and modern features for home speakers on the market. I'm pleased with the product and it's style.

Very nice stylish speaker looks great on a shelf!. Sounds is better than I expected and is nicely tuned. Sounds better than other JBL products. It has a more sophisticated sound compared to their multi-use speakers such as the xtreme, boombox, etc. The price is a little steep in my opinion but everything is nowadays. I really like the handle it makes me want to take it between rooms and its perfect size to fill the space. Gets very loud and the bass keeps up haven't heard any distortion yet. Easy adjustability and love that it can connect to WiFi so I can still do other things on my phone while playing music from it!

This is a Gentleman's speaker! The gold and black color way allows this to both blend into the background and stand out at the same time! I recently took this speaker fully charged to my parents house to show off this fancy new speaker. They commented on the rich output of sound as well as the looks. This speaker is so "Aesthetically Pleasing" according to my college aged daughter! My wife has claimed ownership of this speaker which spends a lot of time in her craft room, but it is not uncommon to see this speaker throughout the house. By simply removing the power cord the speaker can move from room to room with the use of the convenient carrying handle. The large volume knob allows for easy volume adjustments!

Doesn't skip a beat. The sound coming from this JBL speaker is big, like something you would hear from a way bigger speaker. It could even make some of your older speakers sound inferior. The wifi function works with IOS and from my iphone, I can easily select it from a group of available speakers to play. I like the Alexa function too. Just all sorts of options with this speaker. Not to mention its gorgeous, I could display it in my nicest room. The JBL app gives you more options like equalizer and software updates. Nothing bad to report here, all good. Thumbs up JBL ! ????

This Speaker was a great addition to my JBL family of speakers. I have it in our Kitchen. We love listening to Music while preparing dinner. I love the bass! It is clear and deep. In a nutshell, this is the BEST speaker that I've EVER heard! This four speaker box is of amazing quality and craftsmanship. The sound is extremely rich and full that makes you feel like you're right there at the LIVE performance. The fit and finish with its gold trim and even leather appointed handle puts it at the top shelf of premium JBL speakers. Even the front grill has a gentle left-to-right curvature to it. This speaker has a corresponding app and works with Google, including Chromecast as well as Alexa. We love listening to it in the background on game night. It will definitely fill multiple rooms with rich sounding tunes. My favorite feature about this speaker is the downward firing bass that can be controlled by the illuminated bass dial on the top. This speaker can and will shake the table. Treble works the same way. Battery life has been awesome. You can plug it in as well. While portable, at almost 11 lbs. you'll want to consider where you take it. This truly is a premium speaker from JBL and I would DEFINITELY recommend it.

I've owned an L16 (which I love) for years, but whenever I need to set up a new wifi network, or change anything, it is always a mess to get it to connect to the network again. With the Authentics 200, setup was incredibly easy. Plug it, turn it on, open the JBL One app, and it will find the speaker and guide you through the steps to connect it to the wifi network and set up the voice assistants. - Feature packed. Supports Alexa, Google Assistant, AirPlay, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, and a few others which I don't use but I'm sure other people do. In terms of connectivity, they really have covered all the bases. ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: - This is just my personal opinion, not something wrong with the speaker per se. I think JBL should've made the Authentics 200 the portable speaker in the lineup (ie. It should be the one that has a battery, as opposed to or in addition to the 300). Given it's the smaller of the 3 speakers, in my opinion it should've been the one designed to be portable, as it is the lighter one and easier to carry. The 300 can be a touch large to carry around at times. Overall, very happy with the new addition!

JBL has been my favorite for a few years now and they never disappoint!! Opening the box, the presentation to the speaker speaks to the speaker itself. Its carefully wrapped in a soft fabric - who does that?!!? You get to the speaker and you can see immed why its packaged as it is! Very very nice looking - all the way around. The finish is beautiful, clean and classy. Considering i expected much smaller, the add of the carrying handle is a score and doesn't hurt the look of the speaker at all. This is my only gripe - at about 10.5 lbs, it's on the heavy side for a bluetooth/portable speaker. At the same time, it's more than worth it!! The sound is insane!! Straight out of the box! Really no adjustment needed. I was shocked by how clean it sounds at high volumes. Clean and crisp with nice deep base without the nasty distortion affecting the base. I live in a small apartment and it has my neighbors listening to my music?? i took it to a friends house and it sounds better there as it commands space for its excellent sounding high volumes. I thought the 200 was an awesome speaker... the 300 is just that much better. You can't go wrong with JBL so no shocker- they killed it with this one!! At a fair price at that!

This is a very well-rounded speaker that is perfect for everyday use around the house. The seamless integration with Google Assistant and Alexa (both are used in our household) make it ideal for casual listening. For the most part, I leave the speaker on our corner table in the living room. It really looks sharp and compliments the decor. As far as sound quality goes, this speaker sounds excellent, with crisp highs and thumping bass. The volume gets plenty loud. The equalizer works great and is another very welcome feature. The EQ can be used through the JBL app or directly on the physical speaker. If I had to nitpick, I'd say perhaps it would be nice to take the speaker outside in the elements without fear of damage, but it's such a superb inside speaker that it doesn't bother me that it's not suited for rugged outdoor use. The material and build of the speaker is very high quality and again, looks great with the rest of the living room. I can't recommend this speaker enough!

I haven't run the battery down to zero, but it has run for at least 3 hours on battery without batting an eye. One small gripe: You know when you're expecting that bass drop on your favorite song? Imagine if you didn't hear it? hopefully that will explain what I'm about to say? My only complaint (if you could call it that), is that you have to have the volume above around 15-20% for the bass to be really noticeable. The sound is still clear and balanced, but you just don't get the same impact from the bass frequencies. Almost like the speaker is holding back. I realize this might be nitpicky, since the sound isn't bad at all, but I thought it would be worth noting. I was able to get around that by placing the speaker on a bookshelf, which seems to project the audio a bit better when it is at lower levels. The Final Word? The JBL Authentics 300 is totally worth it. Vintage design, killer sound, and smart features make it stand out. I've put it everywhere - bookshelf, kitchen counter, desk - it fits right in.
