95% awesome! Battery life is great, sound is Amazing, the build quality is obvious. The only complaint is when you turn the volume up or down its annoying noise and disruptions in the music.

Bought this 3 months ago. Battery doesn't last long at high volumes outdoors. Easily overheats causing volume to decrease automatically.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday! He loves it! I also think I will be getting one for myself or maybe a couple smaller ones so I can connect both of them to the boombox 3. . I love how loud it is. Shipping was super fast I was very impressed and surprised with how fast it arrived.

Bought the item refurbished and a speaker already went out. I had my doubts but gave them a chance and the failed me. Just pay regular price it's worth it over the hassle of having to file a warranty claim not even 2 months in. I suggest buying from best buy or something other authorized store, as well, because you always have that choice of adding extra insurance, which would make the exchange issue easier IF you ever have a problem.

The Bluetooth connection cuts out continuously. Tried playing speaker with several different phones and had the same problem.

I really wanted to love this or even like it. If you like thumping bass, the Boombox 3 will do that. But the bass completely overwhelms the mids and highs. And what I do hear of those mids and highs doesn't sound that great. Where are those guitar solos and soaring vocals I know so well from my playlist? Buried back there under a layer of booming bass. Adjusting the EQ from the app just seems to make the mids/highs sound worse when you lower the bass. Playing mp3s with the aux cord off my laptop does sound better than streaming from a Bluetooth connection, so I'm keeping it for the party punch portability, but I grimace every time when I barely hear something I know should be on top.

We bought one of these for my sister and the left speaker blew after 1 year. We thought that was a fluke and bought one for ourselves recently and after 2 months the battery won't hold a charge!!! We literally bought two and both are $500 garbage!

The sound on this speaker is big and detailed for the most part. That part is pretty awesome. However, when sitting in the sun, the metal handle absorbs A LOT of heat. Because of this, the speaker gets really hot in the sun. And it doesn't have to be that hot, it has happened to me in mid 70s weather. When it gets too hot, the passive radiators on the side expand like a balloon. It affects the sound quality and the bass pretty dramatically. Because of this, you're better off using the speaker in the shade or cooler areas. Which is interesting because of all the advertising of it sitting in the sun, hmmm? Also, I'm no engineer, but I feel like the racetrack subwoofer on the front should maybe be on the back of the speaker or something, so that the vibrations can resonate off the walls when placed in front of one? And then the tweeters probably shouldn't be stacked directly on top of the mid speakers? Idk, just a suggestion I guess. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the sound and looks of this speaker in general. I just feel that when it comes to tech specs this speaker could be a little better with its size and space available on it. And not to mention the price?

Speaker is one of the best purchases I've made. Sounds awesome and even better when plugged in to outlet for more power. Not to heavy but beefy and rugged. It definitely stands out

I got the boombox 3 for Father's day and love the full range sound it has at lower volumes. Perfect for small yards with close neibors you don't want to bother. It will play loud and rock too.

The boombox that I bought as a father's day gift for my dad is not holding a charge. I am disappointed since this was a $450 purchase. My dad has been in touch with JBL Customer service. We will see how this is resolved.

Not 24hr charge. I recently purchased one for my husbands birthday. We have used it twice and out of those times it only plays 2hrs and then dies, completely. Sounds is amazing, great design/build. However, I am highly disappointed in how mine is not lasting on a full charge.

It's just not that great. I was so excited to finally get one. The Encore Essential is twice the speaker for half the money. I was truly sad to return it, but for $400 it is not worth it. I have a 10 year old Sondore speaker that has more bass, which was ultimately why I returned it.

I've had this speaker going on 2 years maybe it's always the show stopper the bass is massive and the clarity and has nice volume don't hesitate on buying you won't be disappointed

My son was visiting for Christmas and told me he "needed" a Wi-Fi speaker. He was complaining the 1 he researched and was the best was expensive. (He is an engineer and researches everything!) He told me how much and I told him to order 2 and Merry Christmas! I needed 1 also, but not savvy enough to understand which is BEST! First Off I LOVE ALL JBL AUDIO PRODUCTS!!!! JBL in my opinion is on top when it comes to sound quality. No matter what you're listening to, it's extremely clear and defined. For you Dubstep and Bass Junkies out there, look no further. The Boombox 3 has all the bass you need in a portable platform. This beast rips hard. And the bass hits even harder. Punchy bass hits, with crsytal clear drops. Electronic Music has never sounded better. If you want Loud as heck. This is perfect. Honestly I've gotten headaches its so darn loud. But for me Louder the better, and this unit exceeds all expectations. The price tag can scare some away, but I assure you the JBL Boombox 3 is worth every penny and more. It's tough as nails, the quality is very high. Plus its waterproof and dustproof. I use mine in a shipyard, where it gets loud, but my speaker is louder! Very Super Highly Recommend, I'll be JBL for Life!

Very good speaker with excelent sound, however you can only use it on it's own since it has no audio input. In other words if you have the need to watch a nice movie and want to add some nice sound to it by using an the audio output from your TV, there is no way to input it to your Boombox 3 Wi-Fi.... no audio input whatsoever. To be honest at the price, I'm sure they could have included an 3.5mm audio input jack. It's rather disappointing that it's not an option or a feature.

I use this in the yard for outdoor movie night. The sound produced is clear even at high volume. I did struggle with connecting it directly to the phone; once I downloaded the app, it connected easily. Connected the Chromecast and the Wi-Fi easily.
