JBL EON 305 15" Passive Two-Way Portable PA Speaker

I bought these speakers to replace my Yamaha S115V 2-Way 15" Club Series V Speakers for a couple reasons ... first, I've been using the Yamaha's for 8 or 9 years, and although the speakers still sound great, the cabinets were showing signs of wear. The second reason was that I wanted something lighter. These 305's are considerably lighter, are easy to move around, and sound fantastic! The clarity is excellent, and it seems that I can really hear the individual instruments in the music. I will say, however, that the Yamaha's seem to take a bit more of a beating. About a week after purchasing the Eons, I used them in a situation where I pushed them pretty hard, and both woofers gave out as a result. I don't think the Yamaha's would have done the same in the same situation, for I've had occasion to abuse them pretty bad over the years with the same amplifier, and they always stayed intact. That being said, I returned the Eon's to Adorama, got another pair, and received excellent customer service on the return. I simply plan to avoid another similar instance, and do not anticipate any future problems. The bottom line is that I really love these speakers, and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.
