Purchased this unit in December 2022 and loved it. But failed in 2025 after the main board on it burnt up. I had noticed a faint "electrical fire" smell every once in a while in the house bust wasn't able to tie it to anything. The speaker completely failed in April of 2025 and I decided to tear it down to see where the failure happened. I suspect this is where the faint electrical smell came from the whole time, but since we seldom used it it didn't rear its head until much time has passed. I'm sure it was a manufacturing defect but just be aware for those who don't use that much. I did research the issue and tried to buy a used board off eBay but it seems like this is a part that everyone wants. Does that mean a known issue?!? Who knows? Wont be trying again though.

I bought this a month ago to use at our back yard wedding after we had to change plans last minute. The sound and quality is great. The battery life is about 3 hours of continuous use which could be better in my opinion.

I bought this speaker 1 month back and hardly used 10-15 times, but speaker sound is good ?? and unbeatable. Main problem is battery backup, as per JBL we can play the music ?? max 6 hours after fully charged, but here I played it only 3 hour max. I had sent 20 days back for service but still same problem. Once Again I'm going to send 2nd time for same battery issue, if problem not solved then they need to replace with new speaker or fix the battery issue.

Review: this speaker is well worth the buy! I'm very impressed by its sound. It has loud mids, clear high's and rich bass. The Bluetooth function has one volume control on your phone, you don't need to turn up the volume manually on the speaker to be able to control the volume from your phone. Your phone is the only volume control. This does have a USB plug for an old iPod or any other device. Also a common 3.5mm headphone jack for the classic Aux chord choice. Volume is impressive. Its extremely loud. To have perspective, 3-4 clicks of volume up from zero on your phone is comfortable to fill your living room or central part of the house slightly louder than background sound. There are 16 clocks to max volume. Max volume is insanely loud. 100-watts of sound (what it advertises) is what a police siren is rated for (I looked it up lol). It's concert-level sound tailgating or for a house party. Not to worry, the sub woofer has it's own self control and stops it's sound from increasing around 10 clocks from zero. It self-guards itself from blowing the speaker out. Bass is ported to the front and the speaker has amazing bass response no matter where it sits, you don't need to place the speaker in the corner of a room against a wall to get the bass to resonate against the wall for better response. This speaker that wont work, it holds its own. There are two levels of bass boost and it makes a difference. It should always have the first level (highest level) of bass boost while on. My review would change completely without the rich bass response. The speaker is large. Its the size of a gym bag. That's my only negative. Its pretty light but it weighs consistent with a gym bag of clothes. Its not too heavy but if you're walking to the beach you'll want to use the shoulder strap that it comes with. It also has a wireless microphone. It comes with two AA batteries for it. The microphone is rated for 33ft distance. This is nice for the rare times I'll use this for a wedding shower, house party, or other uncommon event if we make announcements or play games and need to announce rules. The microphone has a dial on the speaker for independent volume separate from Bluetooth music connection or wired music input. There is a 1/4" size input for a wired microphone, the same dial for volume independent of the music works for it. Battery: it's rated for 6 hours of play time, and encourages to turn off the light and turn off the bass boost to conserve power. I've gotten this speaker to work with the highest bass setting and the LED light on for 8 hours and it still says it has under half-battery. This is running the speaker at comfortable power, a little over background noise the whole time. Obviously if you're using the speaker at high volume for concert-level tailgate, you're going to want to have it plugged in. I give this speaker a 10/10 if you don't mind its large size.

I bought this two weeks ago and I planned on taking to baseball tournaments and use for warm up music and then during games for walk up songs. It was loud and connects easy but the battery life is not long enough. The speaker I am replacing would last all weekend (block rocker) this one is smaller and easier to lug around. Sadly I am probably returning because I cannot get two baseball games out of it without recharging. I will try aux cord rather than Bluetooth before I give up on it. I really do like this speaker, but I need 6 hours of battery.

Unlike what is said above, don't let it get wet. Bought less than 1 year ago, got sprinkled on for 30 minutes, and toasted. Let dry for 48 hours (3 fans on it) and won't turn on. Loved the unit but is definately not waterproofed once so ever. Bought it at a store 7+ hours away while on vacation so onto a new company.

Pretty cool unit. Kids love it. Only issues is there is only a bass booster button for music sound adjustments. Microphone has some adjustments but unit should have an actual bass, treble and mid knobs for the music. Some of the music apps have those adjustments but for the price I'm surprised this doesn't have any. Overall would recommend.

I bought this brand new from target in delafield wisconsin. Says it last 6 hours, well mine barely last an hour, after it's been charging and says shows a full charge. I lost my receipt and they won't take it back, and they didn't even price match so I wasted 350 vs the 299. Would not recommend

Great speaker, sounds good, looks good, seems to be quality and durable. Lights are a good touch, they can be turned off. The 6hr battery is nice but dang, needs to be more. Easy to purchase with extended plan.

I like JBL products , excellent speakers quality , before I decide to buy a JBL party on the go , I try it two cheaper brands fiesta go from Walmart and Gemini party caster , cheap plastic and the microphone Bluetooth losing signal . $100 dollars more you can buy some thing you can enjoy with your friends and family I recommend JBL party on the go

I am a fan of other JBL products but the party box on the go is not one of them. I feel like it should be louder due to its size and weight. I also think that the battery life is a lot less than advertised.

We received our JBL party box, and of course super pleased .The sound is amazing The carry strap makes it easy to take to any event.
