I went to a party back in the 70's. I was super impressed with the sound system, JBL speakers were pumping out the music. Now I'm almost 70. Wanted a pair of JBL's all my life, don't know while I waited this long. Impressive bass, crystal clear high's. And with the advancements in technology, these sound even better than those all the years ago, even to old ears. Very happy with my purchase. And caught them on sale, $598 a pair, are you kidding me?! What a value.

My new Jbl studio 580s are very nice and are exactly what i was expecting to replace my older 200 watt Digital Pro Audio i had for the past 18 years i have several Jbls abd highly recommend them

Received damaged, sent back with ROL provided, label provided had wrong address on it .JBL will not send my replacement speakers until it receives speakers back from location it was sent to mistakenly by JBL. It is a very confusing situation not of my making. When I first ordered speakers I received them the next day!The replacement speakers are taking much longer??.. not good.

I've only been listening for about a week. I listen to records,cds, and digital files. The shipment took a while and there was some incorrect tracking info.. the link took me to ups,whereas the actual shipping co. Was OD. The speakers are easy to set up and look nice. The highs and mods are very crisp and clear. I do not have a sub and am happy with the low frequency performance on theses. I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking to upgrade and not break the bank.

Just got the 580s last night and hooked them to my Yamaha MX-830 amp rated at 195w @ 6 ohms. I recently picked up some 590s as well and use my Yamaha MX-1 on those. The 580s might sound better. Bass is amazing, not as much as the 590s, but the midrange and highs are spectacular. At $600 for the pair I don't think there is a better bargain out there for such great sounding speakers.

Pair of 580s I have owned a lot of speakers, but I can't honestly say I have found more value in almost anything else. These speakers are tremendous for the price. You're not gonna get the high end finish on the MDF, but beyond that, you get good quality components, a nice compression driver and a sleek modern industrial design. I pair them with a HSU HC-1 center and HB-1 rears and a VTF-15 sub. It works great.

I got the 530's first and added two of 550p subs with them. I was happy but wanted a more powerful, full sound and since I had 2 of the subs I thought the 590's would be too much for our room and 580's would be a better fit size wise. The 580's have pretty good bass themselves so they add the mid bass/fullness I was looking for. They get pretty loud too which I like. Driving them with 110 watts. JBL's branding right now is "!" Truth! And I think that goes well with all of their speakers as they are all usually very dynamic and able to produce any of the sounds the original music delivers. These 580's are no exception- I feel like I am hearing just what the recording is bringing for better or worse but of course usually for the better. The treble on the 580's is also much better than on the 530's which surprised me since they have the same compression driver. It is not just louder but has more sparkle like you would expect from a good dome tweeter. But again not artificial highs. I am a drummer also and the cymbals I hear - Truth! Lastly- the whole series are imaging wonders! I hear sounds from 0 - to 90 to even 180 degrees behind me sometimes that I am not hearing from the front. Crazy. A very involved sound listening experience. I love them and am very happy. I have heard more expensive speakers up to $3k pairs and firmly believe these are $2k speakers based on sound quality. I like their look/design just wish it they had a better finish Just need a better receiver amp now.

JBL legendary quality, and signature sound. Excellent speakers. Very detail, and neutral. Bass is tight, and powerful. Good matching with my Yamaha stereo receiver for streaming, and vintage Kenwood KA-7100 for analog records. Very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended.

I've had them for a month, & so far so good. I've had jbl's since the 70's. The studio 580's are good size, but the cabinets just disappear and blend in. I look at others, but always get the jbls. Thinking about the studio 530 & center channel to finish it all off.

I chose to purchase these speakers based off the other reviews and the fact that every JBL product I own is superior quality. These are no different. I bought a pair for my expanding vinyl collection and they do not disappoint. The Bass can get a bit boom-y but they come with mufflers. They have some weight to them and are very well built. I would certainly recommend these to any one who is looking for excellent sound quality at an affordable price.

When I first started to use the speakers I did not have the foam insert for the woofers. I started with a record that had quite a bit of bass content, and I could barely drive them before reverberation started. After I inserted the foam pieces, they have worked well. They provide a full, rich sound. I consider these speakers a great value for the price paid.

Nice looking and fairly heavy. Well rounded sound for the most part. Pair nicely with the 570, 530 and 520c. Makes for a decent home theater experience.

5.2.2, couldn?t get the sound right w 570s as front. Replaced w 580s, instantly got the sound field I was hoping to get w 570s. 570s are more suited for surrounds. Placement make Hugh difference w these Studio 5 series.

I hooked 580s up 2 days ago to yamaha integrated amp 100 wpc and the sound is phenomenal. Can't wait until broken in. Treble mids and bass are tight and impressive. I have in 28 x 24 garage and they fill space with excellent sound. No need for sub so far.

The directivity, sound stage and imaging is spot on as reviews tout everywhere. I really like the tweeter on this, delicate yet detailed. Lots of composure at high volumes and loads of details in low volumes. Does not need subwoofer for music. The speaker looks great, modern looking, not at all like random comparisons that some people make.

I had the Studio 570 but they were much too short without buying or making risers. These fit the bill perfectly. Easier to drive and a touch more sparkle than the 570 or 530. These like to be driven high for reference level, but with my setup and where they are I can have bass at 0 and treble at 0 or -1 and they are fantastic. Music Only listening area is what these are for.

These speakers are simply amazing for the price. They are a very revealing speaker. You will notice poorly recorded and or mixed music and poor electronics. With a great recording they are simply beautiful! I'm powering them with a BTL Tripath amp delivering 540 watts per channel. The sound stage and imaging are amazing, they have a flawless phantom center image as well. The bass is tight and quite deep, the mids and highs are fantastic, thank that crossover frequency for that. Are there better, I'm sure, but not at this price! Amazing job JBL!
