JBL Xtreme 3 Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker Black

Having owned the smaller size JBL speaker (black-colored) for 4 yrs., I finally upgraded to the ' Xtreme 3 ' unit (blue-colored). I very much like the attachable shoulder strap, but was disappointed that the speaker only lasted just over 6 hrs. instead of 15 hrs., on a full charge.

I bought the Xtreme 3 to pair with my Charge 5 out by my pool. I thought the larger size and increased wattage of the Xtreme 3 would really boost my sound quality and volume. I was disappointed when I realized the Xtreme 3 was barely audible when the 2 speakers were paired together. The Charge 5 alone projects better, and although the Xtreme did have a slightly better sound quality, I could not justify the expense of the Xtreme 3 for the lack of contribution it made. After reading all the small print in the manual to see if my Xtreme 3 was defective I discovered the speaker wattage was smaller in the Xtreme 3 than the Charge 5 and not all of the speakers were operable under battery power in the Xtreme. I'm guessing that is why was underwhelmed by its performance.

This is a good speaker, I may like my charge 5 sound better but it definitely tries to bring more bass.

Ive had it for a few days, its not even broken in yet but its starting to sound better and better, cant wait to hear the full potential of this speaker. Ive always loved jbl. I had a charge 4 before, this is by far the best jbl ive had and ive owned a jbl partybox ultimate

I have had mine for a couple of years . Love the sound and convenience it gives . Being able to take anywhere . Good battery life and the quality of the machine is great . No dings or scratches

I had perhaps the original Xtreme. I had it packed away, for years, and dug it out to find the battery was only good for only about 90-minutes. The Xtreme 4 has more features than I was interested in and includes a big price tag. My point being, 'the 3' sounds considerably better than the prior version which has too much bottom end, for me. The simple EQ in the app for 'the 3' is a nice feature. Good value and built like a tank.

Love it. The metal loops on the speaker could be slightly bigger. Tough to get the strap hooks into them.

I bought this personalized speaker a few weeks ago. As usually for myself, but the kids take it more often than I get to use it. Love the sound quality that comes out of it and how easy it is to connect to. We have a trip coming up in a couple months that we will use it with a couple other ones that come along with family to link them. I can't wait to hear what multiple will sound like.

The Xtreme 3 is a great speaker. I love the ruggedness, however the achilles heel for JBL is always the software/app. It definately needs some polish. Also JBL, please consider allowing multiple stereo pairs in a Party Together session. i.e. Two Boombox 3s, and two Xtreme 3s all playing the same song from one source, but assigned as L and R speakers respectively, instead of all speakers playing L and R channels

I have owned for about a year, love the deeper rich sound you get when putting on floor in corner! I live in Olympia, WA and we receive a lot of rain. I left the speaker out hidden in outdoor sitting area from Oct. 7th until Jan 15. We had numerous atmospheric rivers come through out region and some below freezing temps, but for most part wet and damp. I found it as I was cutting back the grasses, it not only still worked fine but was also still half charged!

I took advantage of Black Friday to buy a customized JBL Xtreme 3 Bluetooth speaker. Its product quality and sound quality are excellent. The customized image is very finely made, colorful and clear. They helped me create a commemorative speaker that is unique in the world and belongs to me. Its sound quality is clear and the bass is powerful, and it can perfectly present various electronic music. When it plays multi-instrument background music, I can feel the 3D sound effects and hear the layering of the instruments. But when it plays pure piano classical music, the rendering effect of the atmosphere is very ordinary, and listening to it for a long time will cause my hearing fatigue. The only thing worth complaining about is the APP "JBL Portable". It doesn't support turning the speaker on and off remotely. This makes me very distressed. I hope JBL will upgrade their APP. Although this speaker still has room for improvement, I think it is still the king of portable Bluetooth speakers of its type.

Speaker worked well until the usb charging port receded into the speaker. JBL wouldn't replace the product and told me to pay to get it fixed. It's only 12 months old. I won't be buying JBL products anymore. At 380.00 for a bluetooth speaker to have such terrible warranty is a joke.
