Best cold weather carbon fiber tripod option out there, I chose it over other products because of the positively locking aluminum leg logs for shots of the Aurora in Fairbanks, Alaska. I combined it with the Benro LBA2 Leveling Base, and a RRS 60mm B2-LR-II Quick Release Lever Clamp, and with the flick of a lever I can go from gimbal for wildlife, to ballhead for landscape panos, to L-bracket for portraits. At it's lowest flat setting the tripod is just above the ground allowing for great shots of all kinds of ground dwelling wildlife. Another thing that attracted me was the ease of maintenance and cleaning, and that spare parts kits are available from Jobu Design. I always tend to bring spare parts with me because with another premium brand tripod I had a malfunction on a shoot literally at the end of the world and no spare parts on hand I called the manufacturer and was told I could have parts as soon as in a half year. Jobu Design beats all the other brands in customer service, availability of parts, responsiveness to customers, and their quality is on par with all the other premium tripod manufacturers out there, and as I mentioned their leg locks make them my first choice for Arctic cold weather photography. I chose the Algonquin model over the Killarney because sometimes I just need that extra leg length to accomplish a stable support position on a slope, or in the midst of a field of boulders.
