Single Sequenced 15 AMP Power Distribution Module with Remote Control Capability
The CQ-1 is a great in-wall extension of the CQ product series. It functions just like the other CQ models with plug-and-play simplicity. It fits in a three gang box. The fifteen amp duplex turns on with a single sequence event. A utility box is supplied with the unit. But, any standard three gang enclosure is sufficient. Like other CQ models the CQ1 has a sequence signal line Input and Output port to allow it to be daisy chained with any number of other CQ devices.
Function
The CQ 1 is a 15 amp hardwire model featuring two AC power receptacles. This single sequence device can be a stand-alone remote control module or can be included with a more extensive power sequencing system. It consists of a three gang front panel and two gang back box that contains a duplex receptacle along with all circuitry and connectors needed to integrate the CQ 1 into a larger power control network. For convenience, Juice Goose provides a three gang wall box along with each CQ 1. One space in that box is needed for AC wire connections. If preferred, most standard three gang enclosures can be substituted for the one provided. Installation is quick and easy. Operation is plug-and-play simple and requires no programming or settings.
All CQ products are controlled by way of an eight wire, RJ-45, cable link to another CQ Series device or controller. Each CQ has a Sequence Signal Input and Output connector on the chassis. This communication link allows the plug-and-play CQ 1 to be installed at any point in a power sequencing system and act automatically in coordination with other CQ modules. There is no limit to the number of CQ devices that can be connected in this manner and no practical limit to the distances between them.
A sequenced array of CQ Series products can be controlled and the initial turn on or turn off command can be provided by the first CQ module in the series, by a Juice Goose RC-5 accessory or by a latching contact closure provided by a single pole switch, a relay or by controllers from Crestron, AMX and other manufacturers.
Application and Advantage
The CQ 1 provides economical and practical power control for a single duplex AC receptacle. Now, there's no need for expensive motorized breakers or visible power control boxes that mount on the outside of the wall.
The CQ 1 can be installed in a wall or ceiling to bring the convenience of autonomous power sequencing to non rack mounted installations. This power module works well with remote mounted powered speakers, video monitors, lights or any other load totaling fifteen amps or less that can be turned on and off as part of a larger power management system. Because the Qiwi fits in a two gang wall space, it also fits in floor boxes or wall enclosures behind digital signage or video monitors.
