Before diving into the details, let's understand that the Juice Goose iP PD1-4 is a sophisticated, microcontroller-based power distribution device that offers web-based control and monitoring for four separate 20-amp circuits, totaling 80 amps, all housed in a single chassis. This device is designed to be accessed via internet or intranet communications using Ethernet-based HTML, TCP, or UDP communications, making it a versatile tool for power management.
One of the standout features of the iP PD1-4 is its RS232 connectivity, which allows for seamless integration with commercial or proprietary control systems. This remote access capability enables the user to switch on and off four individual circuits and monitor their electrical current (amperage) ranging from 0.2 to 20.0 amps per power POD.
The iP PD1-4 is equipped with an onboard web server graphic interface, accessible via any web browser. This user-friendly interface allows for easy setup, control, sequencing, and monitoring of the device. It also offers administrator and user login options for enhanced security.
The iP PD1-4 is not just about power control; it also offers economical features and functions. Despite its high-quality design and construction, it is priced competitively compared to other Ethernet addressable power modules in the market.
The device also features front panel indicators for network connection and outlets status, and an automatic power cycle to reboot a network data router if the network connection is lost. With the help of third-party programs, the iP PD1-4 can be scheduled to turn on and off at specific times, making it an energy-efficient choice.
The iP PD1-4 is also compatible with Crestron modules, allowing for control and true feedback of all iP Series products via TCP/IP. Moreover, it supports SNMP, offering an SNMP enabled subset of the iP Series products.
The iP PD1-4 is designed with a failsafe control feature, providing three levels of on and off control to ensure uninterrupted operation in the event of a system or network malfunction. It also has a three-position switch on the front of the chassis for manual override in case of an internal processor fault.
The iP PD1-4 is designed to cater to the power requirements of mid to large-sized audio and similar systems, with a power rating of 80 amps. It features a wire harness composed of four hot, four neutral, and one ground lead, each made from 12 AWG rating multiple strand wire. The duplex receptacles are NEMA 5-20R, rated for 20 amps each, ensuring robust and reliable power distribution.
