after receiving the device and trying it out. The quality of the sound is horrible. I am using the cables sent with it. It causes my iphone to do things like prompting siri and starting music. When recording i can hear the person i am calling but not my voice. I have tried the various settings and switching cables. No improvement. Not happy at all and will probably return it.

For professionals and enthusiasts seeking a seamless audio recording experience during phone interviews, the CellTap 4C Wireless Phone Audio Tap offers a sophisticated solution. This innovative adapter bridges the gap between your headset and smartphone, providing a high-quality stereo output directly to your recorder or mixer. The CellTap 4C is meticulously designed to be compatible with an extensive array of smart devices, including smartphones, tablets, and notebooks that feature a 3.5 mm 4-conductor TRRS headset jack.
The setup process is user-friendly and straightforward: simply interconnect the CellTap 4C with your existing ear-bud headset and phone, then route the stereo output to a mic-level input on your recording equipment. The device's transformer-coupled stereo output is engineered to deliver your local microphone audio on the left channel and the caller's voice on the right channel, ensuring a clear and balanced recording. With the CellTap 4C, your voice is transmitted with full bandwidth, resulting in a superior audio quality compared to the caller's voice.
The compact and durable design of the CellTap 4C ensures it can be easily integrated into your recording setup without adding bulk. It is also crafted to maintain functionality with headset button controls on most devices, adding to its convenience. An essential feature of the CellTap 4C is the internal switch that supports both Sleeve = Ground / R2 = Mic and Sleeve = Mic / R2 = Ground wiring configurations, accommodating various device requirements.
Please note that while the CellTap 4C is designed to be versatile, due to the lack of standardized headset wiring or control operations, compatibility with every phone cannot be guaranteed. Additionally, users must connect a headset for the device to be recognized by the phone.
The CellTap 4C Wireless Phone Audio Tap is an indispensable tool for anyone looking to capture high-quality audio recordings from their phone calls without the hassle of wires. Whether you're conducting interviews, podcasts, or any form of mobile journalism, this device offers a reliable and innovative solution. However, users should be aware of the legal implications of recording telephone conversations and ensure compliance with local laws regarding consent and recording.
