I bought the original GorillaPod Pro way back. and it quickly became an essential part of my kit. But, when I upgraded to the Sigma 60-600, the old one just couldn't hold up - the lens was too heavy. Enter the GorillaPod 5k. It supports the weight of the Bigma without an issue. And the flexibility of the legs combined with the included ball head gives my camera stability in any position.

If you?ve ever had tripods before, and never a gorilla tripod, this will blow you away. There?s no greater feeling knowing you have your camera on a tripod and it?s completely safe from falling. I would definitely recommend this tripod.

Versatile and flexible. The two arms help with small lights for macro shots. I especially like being able to attach this tripod to so many things, like fences, or trees, etc.

I've had my eye on this for a while. It was at a fabulous price. I got it. So far lives up to my expectations. I'd buy again. Ball head is a little cheap in that to do 360's you loosen to be able to turn, but it gets to as point where it won't turn anymore unless you loosen up the turn screw. Then it's too loose and ball head then has wobble play in it. Love the 2 side arms to hold lights and that is one reason why I bought it.

This kit is really impressive. Without a doubt, it was designed and manufactured to the highest standards, and I can see myself using it productively for many years to come. However, the mounting plate that Joby provides requires tremendous tensioning force to allow it to clamp well to even a light-medium-weighted camera like mine. I have a Canon M50 camera with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Lens mounted on it - surely not a very heavy load for the plate. And yet, the proprietary mounting plate that Joby provided failed to clamp securely to the camera. The "X" shape plate is lined with a rubbery surface that is suppose to increase friction, but even after a more than moderate twisting of the mounting screw the plate could pivot. Not wanting to struggle with this plate, plus my need to have a plate that could be mounted over my Manfrotto system led me to buy the Manfrotto 200PL-Pro Aluminum Plate. The Manfrotto plate proved to be a superb plate that requires a fraction of the tensioning force that the Joby does.

First I would recommend it. Its a gorilla pod it does gorilla pod things. my issue is the light arms. When using a small panel light with a sony f series battery it is a little heavy. I have to keep adjusting it. Now if i were to use a lume cube style light it would be a solid 5/5

This tripod is very well built. I am a teacher and I have a large monitor on a pivoting arm. Sometimes I like to use this monitor for zoom meetings with my students (it's large), but when I do use it I usually have it backed up pretty close to a wall. So, tried numerous other failed concepts until this came in front of me. The arms can be wrapped around things, pushed out for stability, whatever you need, really. It has worked perfectly for what I needed. As a tripod in other ways, I have tried bringing it with me in my travel backpack and it's heavier than my lightweight Kodak tripod, but they say you can strap this thing to trees and such. I haven't tried that yet, but it does look like a fair amount of work. But I guess flexibility, freakish flexibility, is the name of the game with this thing. It doesn't fit into the mesh side holder of my backpack that easily, either. The balls which make up the legs have rubber on the sides of them (think rings of Saturn), which I suppose is a good design to prevent dinging things up, but it increases the friction trying to slide the tripod into a pocket of some sort. Overall, super impressed with this and I will continue bringing it on hiking adventures to see how well I like it. For the specific reason I purchased it, however (to hold a heavy DSL with grip) right above my large samsung monitor in a tight space), it is PERFECT!!!!

Purchased for use underwater, no land use. Pros-Nice unit, stable enough to support a gopro and underwater video lights. Makes a very nice compact underwater video setup. Negative buoyant, so stays put in modest current and surge, strong enough to support a ballast weight if using in stronger current. I have lighter weight Joby tripods, and other forms of underwater tripods, and strongly prefer this one for small cameras. Cons- arms are weak, and connection to tripod broke before I even got it in the water. May be acceptable for lightweight LED lights, but not durable enough for field work. However, it is easy to mount ball heads where the arms would normally go, and that is what I would have done anyway, so it worked out for me. I have not been able to fit any a compact camera with housing on the tripod. Not a knock, it's not designed for larger underwater housed cameras, but if you are thinking about this for underwater use it's really only fit for an action camera.

The 5k Rig is a beast it's a Jack of all trades and quite sturdy. Beacuse its 5k and due to sturdiness it a bit heavy specially that aluminium ball head therefore i wont suggest you for vlogging as you cant hold for long hand held. For vlogging 3k pro or 3k pro rig would be great. I BOUGHT THIS keeping in one thing in mind that I cant afford another gorillapod or any other tripod so I bought the top model. Overall I found this product best as we can mount light or go pro on rig to cover my self while shooting with dslr .. Thanks joby for coming out with this product but please reduce the price of 3k pro rig then people will definitely go for it too.????

This tripod is so useful. You can set it up anywhere and you have the ability to use it to stabilize the camera for filming by using the arms and resting it against your body. Great purchase! My only issue is sometimes the tripod mount moves. Would be nice to have a bubble leveler, but I can use the one on my a7ii

This looks and works as expected. The 5k legs and ball head are both taller, wider, and a little sturdier feeling than the 3k (also heavier). The set I got came with the 5k legs, 5k ball head, and the "rig kit," which is the plate that can hold the 2 arms and strap, the 2 arms, a shoulder strap, and an attachment for connecting a GoPro (haven't tested that piece). I've used the space for the should strap attachment to also attach a wrist strap and tether to secure the tripod better to the outside holder strap on my camera bag. The extra arms are a nice option, I have used them to hold battery powered LED lights when vlogging or when shooting macro or product shots, and they hold them in place without sagging, and allow for easy positioning. I like that the way the rig is designed to attach also allows it to be put onto other tripod setups, I've used the plate and 1 arm on a GorillaPod 3k kit I already had, and that works well too. The main feature, the bendable tripod legs, are great for getting desired angles on macro shots, for shooting video of yourself, and for bending them into various handheld rig shapes that help get smoother shots without carrying a gimbal or actual cinema rig. Just know that if you're looking at this for vlogging, it will be twice the weight of the 3k.
