JOSEPH H : Item comparison .what is difference between this strap and the XLarge strap?TIMOTHY T : Size!DAVID A : Size?LEONARD R : Not sure but there is a way to adjust the strap. What I would of liked would of been the clip on some other straps instead of the screw in provided with Joby. Just my thoughts. The strap works great no problems other than the attachment. hope this helps.Jason B : I really cannot speak for the XL strap. I have had this one for over a year, and the fit is great. I am 6' and it has plenty of give to sit just below my hip when fully extended. My wife is 5'4" and she can adjust to fit her well too.
BOB N : I haven't seen a solution for quick change from strap to tripod have any of you guys? Thanx BobNANCY H : Yes, one disadvantage of this camera strap is the tripod question. But then, unless you need a tripod for close up photography, or low light or night time shots, the rest of the time you really need to use a tripod are for sports, nature, action and in those situations, most quality tele lenses have available a tripod collar that you can attach to the tripod. The Joby Ultrafit Sling Strap for Men saves your neck from straining, and you can also "hide" your camera under a jacket and doesn't attract people's attention that you are carrying a Canon, or Nikon or other makes. Best of all, the Joby is $10 off at Adorama right now.FRANK P : no Bob I have to use one or the otherMURRAY M : Just like you, I have to undo the strap to screw in the tripod. No answer, but the Joby strap is very comfortableGIANNI C : The Joby UltraPlate let's you use the Sling Strap with a tripod. I saw it on the Joby website. Adorama sells it.GARY L : I haven't seen one either. I don't believe one exists.PAUL M : It's way better than the skinny Canon strap that came with my 7D, which is a fairly heavy camera, but I'm not as happy with it as I thought I'd be. I like that the Joby strap lets me get the camera away from around my neck and I like that it's pretty adjustable. It's inconvenient when a tripod is required but that's probably true of all of the sling straps. The glued-on binding along the edges of the strap started to curl back pretty early on. It may be user-error, but unless the strap is adjusted to a short length, only a small amount of the wide part of the strap is at the top of the loop around my shoulder. I wouldn't switch back to the Canon strap and I'm happy enough with it that I'm not looking to replace it. I'd look at some others, though, if the Joby needed to be replaced.JOHN B : The only thing I can suggest is using a QRP with a 1/4 20 on the bottom. Otherwise you're stuck unscrewing the strap every time you want to put it on sticks.
JOHNNY C : Will this camera strap be strong enough to carry a solid full frame camera with a super telefoto lens?BRAD R : Works great on my big Pentax with a 500 mm telephoto. No reservations about recommending this s trap. Very satisfied.Barry G : Yes, I think it is although I returned the Joby and got a Black Rapid for a little more money because it seems a little more substantial and I like the way the ring locks.WALTER S : It's plenty strong, but not very wide or padded. If by 'super telefoto' you mean 500f2.8, it won't be comfortable. I carry a 5D2 w/ grip and fat, heavy Zeiss 21 just fine.Christopher D : This is a well built, capable unit. I know it is expensive but I do not have any qualms about trusting it to do its job. If strength or robustness is your only concern, buy it.

Thumbscrew came loose twice, camera dropped.

I would think that the idea of a camera strap is to always keep the camera secure, right? Not always so with the Joby strap. While I applaud the overall design of the strap, the unreliable thumbscrew connection is a liability, as you can see with other reviews here and on other websites. My camera dropped twice, luckily once in a forest and once on a carpet, so no damage was done. I don't want to have to remember to keep tightening the screw, there's too much else to worry about on shoots. It's too bad because everything else is perfect, but there's no way I'm trusting my $3500 camera to anything other than a strap that's completely dependable at all times to keep it from dropping.

Solid

Easy to use, very secure and effortless. Makes taking pics on the go very fast paced. Switching over to a tripod takes a minute so get use to finding ways to stabilize on the go.

Great Strap

I bought this to use when I'm shooting handheld on site or in the studio. It's solidly built and works very well. I much prefer it to other straps i've used in the past. I don't use straps often and this goes on and off in seconds. It's also pretty comfortable.

A Good Fit

I love the strap. It lets the camera hang comfortably on my side so that it is out of the way yet handy. The lock has two positions, partial lock for quick release and a more secure lock to keep the camera in the position you want while not in use. When ready to use the partial lock releases quickly allowing you to pull the camera out and up to give more freedom of use. The strap that came with my Canon 60D caused the lense to stick awkwardly outward and bump into other objects. This lets the lense hang straight down and hug my body. I had reviewed a number of other straps that cost less, but decided this was the strongest and best value in the long run.

works like a champ!

I had purchased one for a friends wife for my friends stocking stuffer so i had seen it in action and used it a little myself before purchasing it for myself. it works great for events where you will need to have your hands free to do other things.... like look at bird books... or shoot with another camera? Only gave it 4 stars because 5 stars is "perfect, doesn't get any better"... well i don't know if you are like me, but it makes me a little nervous to have $5k worth of equipment hanging soley by the tripod mount. have fashioned a "D" ring to a strap that uses the far side camara strap as a "safety" back-up incase my tripod mount or the screw should fail my equipment(Canon 6D and 400mmf5.6 lens) won't be hitting the ground. now it's perfect!

Joby UltraFit Sling Strap for Men

The product performed as the say it would. It's easy to use once you figure out what to do. May be improved with a stiff elastic/strech material. There should be better diractions on how to install and use.

Safe, Secure, Handy

This strap is great for comfortably carrying a camera hands-free. For example I have been using it with a Nikon D7000 with a 70-300mm lens attached. It carries out of the way over the shoulder but is ready to take a picture in an instant. It adjusts very easily. You need to be aware that the strap attaches securely to the threaded tripod mount on the bottom of the camera which means that you need to remove the strap in order to mount the camera on a tripod. The process is easy enough however.
