Shopper : Does this kit come with a bag or case? One isn't pictured or listed in "what's included", but an answer here alludes that there is one. Thanks!Janet C : No bag or case, everything comes in a box. I kept the box because sometimes I have to take everything down. I even saved the styrofoam boxes that the lights came in. I leave the top of the stand With the light holders on them and just stand them up in a closet. The umbrellas and lights I keep in the box and put them in the closet too.ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, I don't believe that a bag/case is included.
Shopper : What is the actual wattage?WALTER S : I am not sure, I bought this set for my daughter who is the budding photographer. For being a relatively low cost system it has worked very well and was a great purchase. I definitely give it a thumbs up. Hope this helps.ROBERT N : There are 3 bulbs, one is 50watts, this bulb and its smaller reflected is the one behind the chairs or where your customer would stand, this light aids in ridding the picture from shadows. The other two lights are 85watts each, these lights are the ones that are mounted on the umbrella reflectors.
Shopper : How easy is this kit to transport?Janet C : You can transport the lights but I would keep the original packaging so you about the bulbs in them. It does take some time to take everything down and put it back up. If you include a backdrop and stand, it will take about 45 minutes to take it all down and pack it away. I thought I would transport mine but I quickly changed my mind. There are a lot of accessories and you really have to be gentle with those lights.ROBERT N : The lighting kit is easily transported, and I have a small car. Set up is also easy.Michael L : Very easy. Most regular car trunks can hold this.WALTER S : They pack in the included bag very nicely. These are a great low cost pkg. They are light weight and very transportable. Great for the budget. Four Stars - and yes I would buy them again.

Good lights for a small studio. Great customer service.

While I do like the lights, it wasn't enough to light my entire white vinyl backdrop without having a shadow. I had to purchase another backlight stand and 55watt bulb to even it out. I would have preferred two of the same umbrellas instead of one silver and one white. I think they should all be consistent. Of course, thus is just my opinion. I use a small room for my studio and have to have these lights close to my subject. If I were to have a big studio room, these lights would not be sufficient. It's fine for me with my small studio. Customer Service was great as I had to get one umbrella Holder replaced as it did not hold the umbrella. They sent a new Holder within a week which I thought was great.

The JTL Three Light Fluorescent Portrait Kit includes Two Fluorescent 85W Bulbs, One Fluorescent 55W Bulb, Three Angle Adjustable Light Holders, Two 6.5' #600 Light Stands, One #300 Backlight Stand, One 36" Silver Umbrella, One 40" White Umbrella and One 7" Fluorescent Reflector.

JTL compact fluorescent lighting provides the necessary supplemental light source to help ensure the most accurate results. Using JTL compact fluorescent lights make studio photography and video simple, and easy. JTL compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) are ideal for indoor studios such as, digital portrait, commercial photography/ video, or TV interviews. CFLs are not designed for outdoor use.

The color-rendering index (CRI) is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reproduce the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with natural light source. Light sources with a high CRI are desirable in color-critical applications such as photography and cinematography. The CRI measurement of JTL CFLs is no less than 90 that, which is the required measurement for photography and cinematography usage.
