Shopper : I have a JTL tripod model #6113, but I am missing the guick release unit that mounts to the camera. will the TH-24 head fit on to my base ?GUSTAVO G : you will need the base in order for this to work.CHARLES R : the head will fit either a 3/8-16 or the 1/4-20 thread.thats almost all tripods used. the ballhead should have came with the quick release camera mount. also i have found that it will support more that 10 lbs.SUSAN J : The JTL TH-24 should fit on the JTL tripod, but it does not hold heavy lenses and camera bodies. It would work if your lens + camera body doesn't weigh more than about 7 lbs even though it says it can hold up to 10 lbs. I tried it with a DSLR body and telephoto lens and it wouldn't hold up.
Shopper : what material is it made? Aluminum? You would say its a "rock solid" piece? Thanks!GUSTAVO G : yes, very solid and sturdy.SUSAN J : It is solid and I guess aluminum and a bit heavy. When it says supports up to 10 pounds that is true, but an ounce over that and it is loose. It would probably do well with a DSLR body and no more than a 70-200 or 28-300 or maybe a 100-400 lens. It does not work well for my DSLR and 200-400 lens.
