Battery is used as a replacement for the smaller battery that shipped with the JVC GZ 200 palm sized camcorder. Provides power for about 90 minutes. My experience covering a beach vacation and highlights of a bocci tournament were that one charge handled the entire process. There is a larger capacity battery available but it is bigger. Since I purchased this little camera to avoid lugging a DVX 100 or HVX 200, it seemed that lighter and smaller would be better.

I could have bought a cheaper generic brand battery, but I'm glad I didn't. You know you are getting a quality product with JVC.

A necessary accessory if you're planning on taking any length of films. The original battery that comes with the camera lasts only about 20 minutes. With this I was able to film an entire baseball game's worth of play.

Sooo glad I made this purchase! It's easy to use, has long recording time and rechrgs pretty quickly. Plus the price is really nice :-)

I could not find an extra battery for my camcorder that was as reasonable priced as this one.
