The JVC DR-MV99 DVD/VCR recorder offer quick, easy VHS-to-DVD dubbing, including one with a built-in ATSC tuner for recording digital television broadcasts. It offers a front panel DV input for easily connecting a camcorder, an HDMI output with 1080i up-conversion, Divx (5.0) playback, and recording/playback compatibility with DVD-R/-RW and DVD +R/+RW discs.

In addition, the DR-MV99 play back dual-layer +R discs. For the high definition customer, the DR-MV99 includes a built-in ATSC tuner for recording over-the-air HD broadcasts. It plays back dual-layer +R discs. The DR-MV99 is a tuner-free model that includes a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable.

The user selects the desired program using the set-top box electronic program guide and timer function. JVC's new Timer Link feature senses the signal, automatically powers up and begins recording. Recording automatically stops and the recorder shuts off when the program ends. To ensure the best picture quality regardless of display type, DR-MV99 recorder includes an HDMI output that up converts the signal to match the native resolution of the television.

A front panel DV input allows convenient connection of a camcorder for easily transferring footage to a DVD disc or VHS cassette. And for playback of computer video files, the DR-MV99 will play Divx (5.0) files, the popular video compression format for efficiently delivering video over the Internet. In addition to the HDMI interface, the recorder also offers component and S-Video outputs, two composite outputs (one rear, one front), and coaxial and optical audio outputs.
