Pretty good for the price, only disappointment is that you cannot change the aperture on digital lenses due to the lack of a passthrough.

I got this and the Metabones to test with my OM lenses. Two of my OM lenses wouldn't fit the Metabones, the Olympus 50mm 1.8 and the Tokina 35-105mm 3.5-4.5 so I was only able to compare the two speedboosters on a Tokina 80-200mm 2.8 and a Tokina 28-70mm 2.8-4.3. The Kipon was just a hair behind the Metabones hardly enough to justify spending $449 for the Metabones. Like another reviewer wrote if you have some OM lenses at $ the Kipon is definitely worth getting. Some photos taken with the Kipon and the Tokina 35-105 on a Olympus M1 MK II. The Tokina acts like a 49-147mm f/2.5-3.2 with this configuration.

Seemingly well made. Tight fit on both ends.

Perfect, fits my GH4, slides in well and easy to release. Gives a wider view and picture is sharp.

I have taken a fair number of pictures with the adapter with a number of different OM lenses. The first thing I will say is I eyeballed whether I could use this adapter with the 50 mm F1.4 or the 50 mm F1.8 and concluded I should not give it a try. The flange on the back of those lenses seems to extend too far into the amount. I was afraid the flange would scratch the glass on the mount. I do not have that problem with the 50 mm F3.5 macro, the 85 mm F2.0, the 100 mm F2.8, 135 mm F2.8, the 180 mm F2, the 200 mm F4 and the 300 mm F4.5. (Yes, I have a bit of a gear acquisition syndrome problem.) The second thing I will say is that the mount seems quite well built and arrives in a very nice box. although it seems like there are a couple of spots of dust inside the adapter. the most important thing though is how it performs. It certainly does reduce the image size so that each lens is closer to the field of view it originally had on a film camera. I am not 100% sure about the image quality, however. I can't say it is demonstrably worse but I can't say it is demonstrably better. The best I can say is it seems to be about the same as the image quality of the same lens on the same camera without the adapter. that being said, most of my pictures have been playing around indoors oftentimes using a flash. When the weather gets a little nicer and I start taking more pictures outside, I hope to update this review. Bottom line, I have not compared this against the more expensive meta-bones adapter. Or any of the cheaper alternatives. For $, it was worth trying something new. But if you are trying to decide between buying a lens that is specifically designed for your camera and spending $ on this adapter, I would just buy the lens. If you already have a bunch of OM lenses that you like, have $ lying around that you don't really need, and want to have a little more fun with photography, go for it.

KIPON. Adapting by Design.
A simple Kipon lens adapter enables the use of camera and lens combinations from otherwise incompatible systems with a secure connection between the camera and the lens. More advanced Kipon lens adapters include electronic connections, enabling communication between the lens and the camera so that automated processes like exposure information and auto focus are carried out transparently.
The most advanced Kipon lens adapters features autofocus, auto exposure, aperture operation and relates all EXIF data to the camera body. The internal chip containing the adapter's firmware is USB upgradable so that the adapter will always be technically ready for action. Infinity focus is retained in this design, and manual focusing is possible.
Kipon produces a variety of designs in adaptation, imparting speed enhancements, automation reliability, including fine image control and, finally, bridges the world of DSLR lenses to SLT and Mirrorless cameras.
Kipon Baveyes Adapters. Gain a Stop. Widen Your Horizons.
Kipon Baveyes brand is an ingenious blend of many concepts. But foremost is the ability to use full frame SLR lenses on crop sensor camera bodies and mirrorless cameras, with a gain in lens speed. The transformation results in a 0.7x factor to the original lens focal length, conveniently compressing a full-frame image onto an APS-C sensor. At the same time, the adapter adds one f-stop of effective speed in the process, gaining faster shutter speeds at lower ISOs. A 50mm f1.4 lens becomes a 35mm f1.0, or high 800 ISO can shift down to a tighter 400. This allows you to use, for example, your sweet legacy full frame Leica R, Canon EF or Nikon F glass on your cameras like the Sony NEX or Fuji X camera without any loss in angle of view, with an extra stop of speed.
Where does this all end? Creating some amazing results from your choice lenses on all kinds of digital bodies.
Using the language of astrophysics, the phenomenon is called telecompression. A telecompressor, or focal reducer, is an optical group formula to reduce focal length, increase lens speed, and enhance MTF performance. By using a telecompressor element within a lens adapter, you can use the lenses of classic SLRs, while gaining a stop.
The innovative Kipon Baveyes auto focus adapters combine focal length transformation and lens speed boosting along with traditional lens/camera adaptation. Don't expect to turn your old Chevy into a hero Autobot, but you can make some pretty interesting, handsome and unique photoimaging combinations!
