Very nice adapter but a bit pricey compares to my Viltrox booster adapter. Also the box that came with the adapter fall apart shortly afterward.

The worst accessory I ever bought. The first time in my 40-year life when the lens fell by the camera.

I have used this Kipon adapter firmware V2.9 with Canon 500/4 II and Olympus E-M1 (mark I). It's not as fast as Canon 7DII but the AF speed is decent on medium and good light (+10Ev). The AF it also work with the 2x at F8, but it's a little bit slow. I have also written an email to Kipon to add support for Sigma 150mm f/2.8 (old version). They responded that they will try, and guess what ... after 6 months I have tried a new firmware and the lens is supported. P.S. Be careful to turn off the camera when you remove the lenses. I have broken the electronics of Kenko Pro 1.4x by trying to take the TC from the adapter with the camera powered on.

This did not communicate with my camera. I returned it and got the metabones which works perfectly. You get what you pay for!

Not having the extra stop of light and slighter field of vision is a small sacrifice for having it work flawlessly on my gh4 and blackmagic pocket camera v1.

i bought this adapter from adorama thru ebay, delivery time was excellent. Initially, I was disappointed that adapter did not work properly- no aperture, no single or auto focusing. Not to panic. New electronic contacts sometimes have to be cleaned to work properly. Just take an eraser. Rub(erase) off the old excess and lightly rub the contacts on the adapter. On the 1st try I contact I got an intermittant display on aperture. So, one more bout with the eraser did the trick. Everything works (aperture, single/auto focus). I am very happy with this adapter. This adapter failed right out of the box on my GH2, GH4 and GH5 cameras. It gave an error code and no picture. After downloading current firmware (ver 2.6) the error code went away and had a picture. None of the electronic functions (auto-focus, iris control) worked with 5 of my EF lenses on any of my MFT cameras. However, I did find that it worked on my friend's Canon 70-200mm lens for auto-focus & iris control. Due to the limited supply of EF lenses that it might work on I would not recommend this product. Sadly I had to return it for a more expensive Metabones T-Smart adapter which worked very well on my GH2, GH4, GH5 and all of the lenses that didn't work with the Kipon including a Tamaron EF lens.

Has no tripod socket despite how it's pictured and is so large that I had to grind off a bit of it's exterior to fit a small tripod to the camera body. It does NOT activate the IS in my Canon lenses. It does seem well built, physically and it does control the auto-iris and the metering system works. On certain lenses you can even use the AF if you're not in a hurry.

Works perfectly, but stabilizer is kind of important for the GH5, and it doesn't work with this speedbooster.

Works with the Sigma 100-400mm on my gh4 very nicely, autofocus is good. Only really problem is it can't do continuous af, which is a bummer and if you're planning on using this for birds in flight it won't be what you want. I can deal with it personally, so i give it 4/5.

Though the physical quality seems great, it does not actually work with the lenses as described. Does not communicate with the lens.

Really nice! Works well with sigma art lenses and most canon lenses. I find it better to turn off continuous focus.

The unit I received was very solidly made and fit on my GX8 without any wiggle room. Unfortunately it would not allow me to change the aperture when using with my Canon 17-55mm f2.8 lens. Returned to Adorama for a full refund.

I own eos 1D slr and olympus m4/3 and being able to use some of my canon lenses on it with af and in lens is has been splendid. Shot some amazing pix and video with the combos. Well worth the purchase and highly reccomended but with a caveat: some lenses don't work or work poorly. Is nature of the beast imho when marrying unintended lenses to bodies not designed to shoot them. It just plain will not be as turn key simple as bayoneting an eos lens onto an eos body is. Would I buy it again? Yep.

I was hesitant to get this having heard about the awful issues with Metabones adapters for Sony E. I couldn't have been more surprised. It is an excellent tool for someone like me with both systems.I have tested it with a GX-7 and a GX-8 Panasonic. Here's the rundown with the lenses tried (all of which I own) EF 50/2.5 Macro Perfect, slow AF as the native lens is slow as well EF 100/2 Perfect with instant AF EF 100/2.8 Perfect with AF as quick as on Canon body EF 200/2.8L Perfect with instant AF EF 40/2.8 STM Slower AF, as with Canon body EF-S 24/2.8 STM Faster than the 40 STM, perfect EF-S 18-55 IS STM Perfect AF EF-S 18-135 IS STM Perfect AF EF-S 55-250 IS STM Perfect AF EF 70-200/2.8L IS II Perfect AF Sigma Art 50/1.4 Instant AF Sigma Art 20/1.4 Instant AF SIgma 15/2.8 Fisheye Slower AF as with Canon body SIgma 70/2.8 EX Macro AF quick enough but way off (front focus) SIgma 150/2.8 EX Macro Very Quick Af, as with Canon body Sigma 100-300/4 EX Very quick AF Tamron 15-30/2.8 VC Exhibits rapid clicking of aperture when mounted, but able to focus quickly when shutter button pressed 1/2 way or all the way and gives normal exposure Tamron SP 150-600/5-6.3 v1 Unfortunately this is a no go for AF, can only be used in MF In summary, the only issues are with Tamron lenses, the front focus with an old Sigma 70 macro is likely a lens issue. It works like a charm with every Canon lens and new Sigma lenses. At the price it should have come with front and rear caps, though. Build quality is quite good, not exceptional.

I would give this 3.5 stars if I could . I would love to give it 5 but it falls a little short for my application. I have the JVC GY-LS300 and this adapter does everything but Auto Focus. I tried the auto focus on the canon 18-135mm STM and on the Sigma 15-50 f2.8, and although it worked slightly better on the canon lens, it would still hunt for focus 90% of the time. The Sigma goes wild hunting every split second. I honestly thought it was going to destroy the focus motor. The aperture adjustments are very responsive and the image stabilization also turns on and works properly. Even if I set the camera to Auto exposure that works well too. The other thing I'm not a fan of is the fact that there are no caps with the adapter - no great way to store and pack it. I do give it points for having a USB input, so the firmware can be upgraded when needed. A matter of fact perhaps that may fix my problems. I'll make a follow up review if it does. There's a video on youtube a maid about this adapter and more on youtube. Just search JVC LS300 and canon ef adapter to see the results for yourself.

Tried with half a dozen lenses, mostly canon, on GH4. Autofocus unstable and not accurate. Worked well with one lens. Would not recommend unless lens is actually on their list which is very limited. In particular, it is only listed for one STM lens. Most all of my canon lenses are STM.

I just received the adapter and took it out to test it with my GX85 and Canon 100-400 II. 1) The IS in the lens works very well, and as far as I can tell, the IBIS in the GX85 works simultaneously (the little hand signal is on). 2) Exposures are right on. 3) Focus is right on, but a little slower than with a dedicated Panasonic lens, or when I have a Canon body on the Canon lens. 4) Accurate EXIF information is recorded by the camera. I haven't tested it with video yet, but I probably won't be using AF for video, and only selectively using IS, so my demands won't be as great as with stills. If I encounter any problems, I will revise this review. So far, I'm very happy the adapter.

This is a great adapter, it's sturdy and secures my lenses nicely to my camera body. It causes slight chomatic abboration on the edges but it allowes me to have very nice image. I would recommend this lens adapter to anyone who wants to save money and still have great image quality!

I CAN NOT USE MY ZOOM LENSES TO GET MUCH MORE FUNCTIONALITY FROM MY 'JVC-GYLS300' 4K CAMCORDER. THIS IS AWESOME BECAUSE I HAVE FOCAL LENGTHS FROM 17MM TO 300MM TO GO WITH MY PRIME LENSES OF 14MM, 35MM, 85MM AND 100MM MACRO. AUTO FOCUS IS GOOD UP TO A POINT, HOWEVER, AT TIMES IT IS NOT NECESSARY. THEREFORE, I SIMPLY SET THE FOCAL LENGTH AND MANUALLY FOCUS. I USE THE CAMERA'S BUILT IN AUTO FOCUS AND THE LENS AUTO FOCUS TOGETHER. NOT SURE THAT IS IDEAL OR NOT. YOU DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. THE ABILITY TO USE OTHER LENSES AND SET THEM AS I WOULD A PRIME USING FOCUS ASSIST IS WELL WORTH GETTING THIS KIPON AF ADAPTER FOR CANON EF LENSES.

The adapterr worked as represented, the only concern I had was the release lever is sharp to the touch and it seems like you hand is around it a lot.

I have a number of Canon lenses that I wished to utilize on my Panasonic LUMIX G7. This adapter fits. It auto focuses and send the ExifWizard data to the image. Thus it performs as expected. Overall this saved me form needing to purchase a dedicated 4/3 longer telephoto at a considerable cost savings. The only lens that I owned that would not autofocus was a 50mm f1.4, no problems with a 17-40 F lens or a 60mm f2.8 MACRO among others. So happy shooting

I used this adapter with some good success with the OM-D E-M10. I swapped that body for the E-M1, and with the latest firmware from both Olympus and Kipon, AF and exposure are both wildly inconsistent. Kipon hasn't updated the firmware in many months now. Does not work with Tamron's 150-600mm lens.

So far I have only used the adapter for my Canon 100-400mm L mark 1 lens on Olympus OM-D E-M5 ii body. I think this is a challenging combination but it works extremely well. Occasionally, at full telephoto (ie 800mm - 35mm equivalent), focus can be a bit slow. However, the vast majority of the time of the time it works just fine.

I wrote Kipon to ask if this adapter would work with a Sigma 150-600 mm Sport lens with a Canon EOS mount with my Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera. They replied that yes they would be compatible. However, when tested together the camera could not set the exposure most times and the shutter would not trip. When my Canon body is attached to the same lens everything works fine. Likewise, when Olympus lens are attached to the Olympus body everything works fine. I can only conclude that the adapter is the problem. If you order this adapter, check it out carefully with the lenses you intend to use during the 30 day return period. Although the adapter looks well made and fits well I am returning this adapter for a refund.

When I tested this adapter indoors with an EF mount sigma 105mm f2.8 OS, I was only expecting modest auto focus when mounted on older Panasonic micro four thirds camera. I was shocked to find that It actually preserved auto focus capability , even when mounted on an old G2! Granted it was not what you would call really quick focusing. But I was definitely, pleasantly surprised. I understand that smart AF adapters such as these interact differently with various combinations of EF mount lenses and camera bodies, so your mileage may vary. Now I'm looking forward to putting this adapter through its paces outdoors in the spring with more current micro four thirds camera bodies. Pleased with my purchase.
